Mommy Needs Friends Too...
I live in sherman oaks and I work full time in Santa Monica. I am the first of my group of friends to have children. I want to do some mommy and me classes or post pregnancy exercises classes. It seems more often than not the times are during the day when I am at work. My baby is only 3 months or so I have a while before I can meet other moms at school. So where can I meet other mom's?

I work full time too. We would go to the My Gym Classes in Encino between Balboa and Louise. They have a really nice facility and they have Saturday classes.
Hope this helps!

There are wonderful Mommy and Me yoga classes at "Absolute Pilates and Yoga" in Woodland Hills. I met a great friend there when my son was only a few months old. Our two boys still play together 2 years later. There may be classes closer to you.
I also recommend taking your baby to a near by park (one that you will most likely be going to often when your baby is older)
I've also met some great moms through "Stroller Strides" and "Music Together" or "My Gym" classes. Good luck. I know it's hard!!! Just get out there.

Balboa Park has many moms that walk around in strollers. Some in a group.
Also, the playground at Balboa Park gives moms a chance to sit, watch their kids and chitchat with each other.
At Babies R Us, I noticed when I first gave birth that several new moms are also very open and friendly and approached me trying to get know me and my baby. If I was in a right mindset, it would have been the perfect opportunity for me to ask them if they "come here often?" or "Is there a great place to hang with other mommies that you would recommend?"

There's a great class run by a wonderful woman named Octavia - her business is called "Outside The Box For Babies". Her center is in the valley off of Ventura & Topanga and she also does classes in Santa Monica. She does offer weekend classes too. Check out her website www.otbee.com
