Mommy Is a Man!

I told my daughter, who is three and a half, to do something and she says, "Yes, sir!" I say, "Mommy is a girl, so you say, "Yes, ma'am." Now she is running around yelling, "Mommy is a man!" Sigh....I foresee this new information confusing people pretty quickly.

We've had rain for three days, anybody want to give me ideas to stop us all from going crazy?

What can I do next?

I don't know how to help you keep from going crazy in the rain, but I will tell you that my mom told me that when I was a little girl, she heard me singing the song "Amazing Grace", and my words were "...that saved Donna Wretch like me..." Everytime I hear something like what you said, I remember this!

Hope you make some cookies or something - at least the house would smell really good!

Thanks for the giggle! It is funny when they get the words confused. Then again, sometimes it's not funny. When my oldest was five we were at the playground and I heard him yell, "hey a$$ H***!" I was mortified and said "don't say that!" He told me, "mom, that's his name!", to which I answered (trying desperately not to laugh), "uh, no, his name is Axel." My son: "Oooooohhhhhh."

kids can be so funny sometimes, i am having indoor craziest also but its just to hot for the kids to go outside and we only go swimming a couple times a week cause of the new baby....

my daughter said in front of everyone the other day....will papa and his g/f have a baby?, and i said no daughter they are grandparents so they dont have kids.....she said well since grandparents are so old and have lots of wrinkles then their baby would come out with lots of wrinkles and i bet it would need a cane since papa is really old......

Lol, she sounds like a funny one! Unfortunatley logic and reason do not work on children, so just try to ignore her and she will find something else to amuse herself with.
As for activities, how about simple crafts like sock puppets, glue and paste. Or dancing to favorite songs, crawling races, hopping races. Make some cookies or frost a cake.

Have a picnic on the floor. Run laps down the hall and back. Put on music and dance. Have an afternoon matinee complete with pop corn.

Do you have just the one or do you have older and younger kids too. If older, do "exercises". My grandkids loved that one. Teach handstands. Do treasure hunts. Older kids, have them fix a simple meal for everyone. ie. make sandwiches, hot dogs, carrot sticks without peeling or cutting.

well you send the rain our way, you can have our hot sunny days and I will take being called a man if it means having a good down pour to water our burnt grass and having a good reason not to have to go outside for a few days and have to deal with all the bugs (horse flys), and have a good reason to go to the movies.
