Mommy and Baby Exercise Classes
Does anyone know of any exercise classes for babies and mommies near Fair Oaks? Has anyone tried Gymboree? What are other moms doing to get back into shape after having a baby?

Check out www.strollerfit.com, it is a fantastic class. I know there are classes in Roseville, Lincoln, Rocklin and Elk Grove. I love it!

I don't know much about baby and mommie classes like GYmboree, but I do know about a way to get back in shape with your baby. I went to Strollerfit after I had my little girl. It's an organized class with a very knowledgable and friendly instructor. You exercise while your little one(s) sit in the stroller. They do stuff throughout the workout to keep them entertained. The one I went to is in Roseville and it's great. There are a lot of great moms who go and they also organize events outside of class that can be mom's night out or an activity with the kids. I believe they have also started classes in Sacramento. I think you can go to www.Strollerfit.com and figure out which classes are closest. I beleive your first classs is free. If you can't find any strollefit classes for you, I think there are some other groups around in the area. I can't vouch for them because I have no knowledge about them, but maybe they would work for you. I think one is called strollerstrides and the other might be called mommy boot camp. Good luck to you!

I am 40 and mom to a 5 month old girl. We've been walking 2-3 miles about 5 x per week with our jogger/stroller. Also I've been gonig to the Cal-Fit about 1-2 x per week, but only when my husband can take a long lunch and watch the baby. I prefer the outdoors. The weight is starting to come off, but very slowly....like 1/2 lb - 1 lb per week. That's the max recommended for lactating mothers anyway, according to Weight Watchers. I'm on the fence about joining, but we shall see.... sorry I don't know about a mom/baby exercise group.

Gymboree is overpriced.
Technique Gymnastics in Rancho Cordova (off Folsom Blvd) actually has a similar program as Gymboree but much cheaper. It's the Toddler (Parent Participation) class and it's for 15 months to 3 years. It's $25/month, weekly 40 minute classes. Both of my daughters are in gymnastics there so I've seen the class and it looks great!
