Mom's Group or Playgroup in East Dallas

Are there any groups in East Dallas (near arboretum/75228 zip) for moms? I still have 1 month of maternity leave left, and I'm getting a little depressed being home alone all week. I'm returning to work for a little while, but I'm considering staying home starting in the fall.

Hi C.!
I live in your zip code near the lake. I moved here 3 years ago from out of state and had my son soon after that. I know how you are feeling and would love to connect. I researched groups when I moved here. Our neighborhood doesn't have an early childhood PTA (that I found) but Lake Highlands and Lakewood does. I have been in both groups and have met some wonderful moms. They support local schools and have playgroups for all age groups birth to 5. www.lecpta.org

Another organization that is wonderful is MOPS. Mothers of Preschoolers meets at local churches. Some moms from my neighborhood and I attend the one at Wilshire Baptist. It's an incredibly supportive, wonderful group of moms from all over the area. The next session begins in the fall. There is childcare.
If you ever want to meet up, let me know. My neighborhood is starting to get more and more families. We have started meeting up at a local park in the afternoons. (all ages of babies/toddlers).

The school is on Peavy and Northlake, which isn't too far from you.

I know it is really hard to get into the mom thing- especially when the baby is so young!

I live over in Old Lake Highlands if you want to come over for a cup of coffee just e-mail me!
