Mom Seeking a School/daycare in or Around Addison

I need your advice.... again :)

I'm looking for childcare, preferably a school, to put my son in (he's 2, will be 3 in Dec). I just recently started a new job working 9-5 and it sometimes overlaps with my husband's pm restaurant schedule. I'm looking for something in Addison.. possibly near Trinity Mills & Midway (not necessary though). I've thought about daycare, but if I'm going to be spending money on that, I'd rather spend just a little bit more and have my son be learning too, rather than just being watched.

~~I hope that made sense.

We're looking for either part time or full time. Where have you sent your children? Did you like the curriculum? I've looked online, but it's hard to get prices without being harassed. And I'd prefer not to spend an arm and a leg either.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I LOVE MAMASOURCE!!!!!

What can I do next?

My daughter goes to Bent Tree Preschool in Addison. It is on Addison Road (in between Midway and the Tollway one block south of Trinity Mills). My daughter has been going there since 2006. All of the teachers are degreed. There website is http://www.benttreecdc.com

If you call the front desk, ask to speak with Jessi or Mary and let them know Rosanna (Sophia's mom) referred you. Mary is the Director and Jessi is the Assistant Director. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Hope this helps!

Do Not go to KinderCare on Kelly/Trinity Mills. I had a Very bad experience as a mother and as a worker. No compassion for my son when he was going through separation anxiety and they had me there alone with 15 18-24 month old. I got up and got my son's things and left. I also do not recommend Rising Starz off of Jackson and McCoy. My son comes home everyday with a slopping wet pullup and they are not working with him on potty training. I am also looking for part time childcare in Carrollton that accomodates children with Autism and helps with potty training.

Good Luck and Thanks

kinder care in frankford is good one!

K., I work over in that area and did a pretty exhaustive school search for my daughter as well. Of all the schools I visited, I thought the Bent Tree Child Development school was the best-clean, kids looked healthy and happy, great curriculum that focused on learning everything from academic skills all the way to personal care, I think the brochure said something about bringing a toothbrush because they brushed teeth after meals. I really REALLY wanted to go to that school but the two problems we had were A. the wait list and B. the cost-for the 18 month program weekly tuition was like $215 or something and my husband said absolutely not.

I checked out Kaleidoscope (Midway just north of GBT), Peanut Gallery off Alpha, Armadillos to Zebras (Off Spring Valley), and Bent Tree Day School (near Frankford & Midway, not the same as Bent Tree Child Development Center).

I did not like the Kaleidoscope place at all, it freaked me out, too crowded and sick kids everywhere, but affordable. Bent Tree Day School was my second choice to Bent Tree C.D.C., it was a little less expensive and farther away from my office, but it was clean, healthy kids, had an organized curriculum, I think they wanted $205 per/wk for 18 months.

The easiest, fastest way to get the info you want is to just go into these places unannounced and ask for an info packet. They can usually give you a quick tour in about 5-10 mins and it will have all the pricing info, etc. right there for you to look at at home. Plus, you want to see these places in person.

Hope that helps, good luck!
