I am looking for a nice church to attend in the Northwest Houston or Cy-Fair area. I have a 3 year old little girl and I would like a church with good programs for children. We have gone to Lakewood several times but its so chaotic to get to and from. I will admit, I do not go to church often, but, I would like to start. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Does it have to be non-denomiational? I am a member of a WONDERFUL church in Jersey Village that is VERY child-oriented. It's Epiphany Lutheran Church. They have a children's sermon at the 10:45am service. After the children's sermon, the children are taken out to watch a video, do a craft, sing and other activities while the parents listen to the sermon. Then the children are brought back, just before communion so that they can come up to the Lord's Table with their parents and receive a blessing. The church has great Sunday School teachers, weekly activities for the kids to get involved in and they have a fantastic school, which my own children attend. Their preschool and MDO programs are outstanding too. When my husband and I joined last year, we felt so comfortable and welcomed with open arms! In fact, my husband got baptized and has become an usher in the church!! He was not even a Christian when we met! I hope you'll consider visiting us. We'd love to have you at Epiphany!

God bless!

I would love to invite you to attend our church - Champions Covenant Church. Many people who come here say we're like a "little" Lakewood! Our motto is "Real Love, Real People" - and that's just what we are. We are non-denominational. If you'd like more info, you can check out our website at www.championscovenant.org. We're located at 13111 Bammel N. Houston Road - right next to Klein Forest High School. (If you're not familiar with the area, we're 2 miles from Beltway 8 and about 1 mile from Veterans Memorial - right behind Greenwood Forest Subdivision.) We have an awesome children's program and even a daycare. If you visit, have one of the greeters find me - just ask for K.! Good luck in your search!!

I can only offer where I attend & that is Creative Life Center in Spring. They have a website if you are interested in learning more, it is very much like a non-denominational church. We have wonderful mothers with young children & even organize a playgroup through the church. Just thought I would put it out there.. good luck in finding the right place for you & your child!

Hello M.,
We are members of Lakewood also. We haven't been in a while for the same reasons. We have been to Ed young's church @ tinseltown off 290 and Spring-Cypress. They televise him on the movie screen. They have a awesome childrens program. I've also heard alot of good things about Pastor Shooks new church off 290 and Becker. Here is my email address if u decide to go, maybe we could meet up. ____@____.com My hubby isn't too big on going right now for some reason. I feel it's my responsibility as a mom to teach them godly values.

Good luck,
J.

We too have gone to Lakewood many times and love it there. We would join, but the drive is so far...

I don't know much about this church, but have driven by it several times and have gone to their website. I get the feeling this is a good church. It is a spirit filled church from what I gather.

I used to go to Cy-Fair Christian Church, its non-denominational. Its on Grant Rd. off 249. Great church! I miss it. I married a Church of Christ guy. So he doesn't like the musical instruments at Cy-Fair. We have yet to find a new home church since we moved to Spring thats Church of Christ. We went to Westbury Church of Christ with a friend and liked going there, its just way on the other side of town from us. I've considered just leaving the hubby at home and going back to Cy-Fair Christian.

I have a lot of friends who go to Community of Faith. It is non-denominational. I have heard nothing but good things about it. They just built a church on 290 and Becker.

Good luck,

N.
