Mom of 4 C-sections VBAC Possible?
I have had 4 C- Sections and am expecting our 5th is there anyway that anyone has heard to go VBAC? The first c-section was due to failure to desend and progress. The second was due to disc problems that i risked paralyzing myself. The third was toxemia.
So What Happened?™
The DR feels that it would not be in my best interest health wise to labor. And with the high blood pressure and so on and his heart rate on the NSTs during contrations I belive maybe he is right. So we will go in 2-2 for a C-Section. Maybe I will go into labor and he will let me go he said. So for now that is what I hope.

Hi K.,
I have had two C-sections and with my second I tried to do a VBAC. I wish I would have had a C-section to start. I went through the whole labor and still ended up with a C-section. It depends what kind of section you had with your other 4. If you had the horizontal cut I think they may let you. You'll have to talk to your doctor. I don't know if it is worth it though. If I have a third it will definatly be a planned section. No more labor for me. Good luck and congrats.

My OB told me it depends on why you need the section. My son who was small did not progress and was lodged in the birth canal. She told me, the chances of me having a natural delivery because of that were low and I would probably (or could likely) end up with a c-section again.

Hi I'm the Mom of 2 c-sections and am planning a HBA2C (homebirth after 2 c-sections) in March. My First was a Failed induction Failure to progress etc etc...all stemming from the induction. Second was talked into for fear of big baby.
If you haven't already, contact www.ican-online.org We do have a Michigan Chapter in Ann Arbor and we have a meeting this Sunday night at 6:30pm. We would love to have you come and talk to us...we won't pressure you one way or the other but we can help you make your birth experience (wether c/s or vbac) a positive one.
Many Hugs and well wishes.

A VBAC is VERY possible. Look up this group... these women are so knowlegable. I don't know when you're due but learn as much as you can from them in the days/weeks you have left.

Also try this site for birthstories of women who have done just what you want to do. This site has great info for women of any size so don't let the URL put you off.

Other than what you can find at the above sites, DON'T go the hospital until the absolute latest. And when you do - REFUSE any and everything they want to do to you.
Peace,

I think it depends on why you had the c-sections the first four times. If your doctor thinks you have a chance to make it work this time, then go for it. It just depends on what is different this time, compared to the other times.

I have had both a c-section first and a VBAC second. In order for me to have had the VBAC, I had to have clearance from the Dr that performed the C-Section. It depends on how you are cut. If the first inside layer is cut up and down then no you cannot have a VBAC, if you are cut side to side then yes you can try. Check with your doctor. VBAC's are so much better and the recovery time it quick. Goodluck.
