Mom Needs Good Children's Dentist near Poway

When my son was 2, I took him to see Dr. Bruce Baker near Pomerado/Poway. Although the office was very nice, the appointment did not go very well. I don't think my son was old enough to understand and/or allow the xrays, so he fought them on everything. We tried again at age 3, and I thought it might help to try a new dentist so that the experience would be different. A Mom's Group recommended Dr. Anthony Scoma in Scripps Ranch, and it has been nothing but wonderful! My son has been twice now, and cooperates fully with all of the examination. It certainly helps that there's a TV on the ceiling that the kids can watch during the cleaning. Both of these gentlemen are pediatric dentists.

After some terrible experiences that included a formal complain against one ped dentist we found ourselves there. They have been perfect with my boys. They are now our regular dentist.

I am from the Poway area and growing up my brother and I went to a dentist off of Pomerado road, by the hospital. It was a practice with twin brothers, Duane and Wayne, who both worked there. They were very happy, friendly and great dentists. Their last name is Brannon. I am not sure if they are both still in practice but it is worth a shot. I have since moved south so I do not go there anymore. I know my brother last went there about 3 years ago.

I take my 4 kids, aged 7-17, to ABC Children's Dentistry. It's located just west of I-15 on Rancho Penasquitos/Poway road. It's in the McDonald's parking lot. The dentist is a woman and she's great with kids. We've been going to her for the past 4 years. Good luck.

Hi there! We just found Poway Family Dental Group on Scripps Poway Parkway. They have an awesome website and everyone is SUPER nice. My daughter just turned 3 and she's got a tiny little chip on the front of one of her teeth so we wanted to get that checked. The dentist was quick, took a peak and that was it. He was very nice to her and didn't try to shove his fingers in her mouth (which we've had dentists try to do in the past!). He told us that as long as we're brushing her teeth and there are no problems that she doesn't need to come in until next year. Phew! We use Dr. Scoma in Mira Mesa. He and his staff are wonderful in explaining things to the children. They also let the children watch movies while undergoing treatment which helps in keeping them distracted somewhat. Good luck to you.

Dr. Poelman ###-###-####) on Pomerado Rd. He is a family dentist, but very nice and gentle. My family and I have gone to this office for 20+ years. Everyone is very warm and friendly.

dr. dixon & associates (on iberia place in RB) is great. my daughter (3yrs) goes to dr.lam & thinks she is great. the hygienists are wonderful also. lots of free video games in the waiting area AND a duck pond out back. :)
