Moisturizers That Are Safe to Use While Pregnant.

My moisturizer has retinyl palminate in it and I just read that is not recommended for pregnant women. I stopped using it (I'm about 6 weeks pregnant). Does anyone have any recommendations for lotions that are safe? Also, I am freaking out the more I learn about stuff I shouldn't eat, put on my body, do etc.-I'm a total basketcase. I went to my doctor before I got pregnant and told her we were trying and all she said was take prenatal vitamins and stop drinking! Is there a master list of these things or do I just need to keep reading and finding them out as I go?

Stop panicing. Important things to stay away from are drinking alcohol, arificle sweeteners, medications the
dr. does not want you to take. I have not heard of moisturizerers, but I would recommend coco butter. Don't believe everything you read some make it up as they go along.
Try and eat right and stay healthy. Make sure you get your calcium and folic acid. The stress will have you paniced and all that does is raise your blood presure. Enjoy being pregnant and go get yourself a new wardrobe.

I like complex 15 from drugstore.com, it has no parabens, which have been shown to cause cancer.

Relax! You're going to be fine. You can only do your best, and stress is not good for you or the baby. As far as another comment on milk and prenatals. Do read that label. I know my prenatals say not to have any dairy within two hours of taking them as the milk can prevent the vitamins from being absorbed. Tums can do the same thing. Enjoy being pregnant! And don't stress!

I used vanicream during my pregnancy and you can get it at the pharmacy at walmart for 15.00. I use it on my daughter for her eczema and it works great. As long as you eat consistently and drink plenty of milk and water with the prenatals you should be fine. Make sure you do keigel exercises to help build the strength of the vaginal wall for delivery. I hope this helps and gl. Congrats on the pregnancy.

I love the products from The Body Shop. I can't imagine their all-natural products would have anything harmful in them. I used the Shea Body Butter during my last pregnancy, especially once my big belly was itchy! Relax and enjoy this amazing time.

You can also find an all natural aloe vera gel that works great on your face and neck.

Most of the stuff the doctor is going to tell you is common sense, like stop drinking, no drugs unless your dr says they are safe, etc. Fresh fruits and veggies are great during pregnancy since you get all the vitamins and nutrients.

Avoiding a lot of fast foods, fried foods, and junk foods are also fairly easy changes to make while pregnant. You may find that fried or heavily spiced foods upset your stomach anyway, and that makes them easier to replace.

I know a lot of people have mixed reviews about this book, but it was really helpful for me since it answered a lot of my questions. Its called "What to Expect When You Are Expecting." Check it out and see if that's something that would help you.

I don't have any recommendations for moisturizers, but I just wanted to put your mind at ease a little. I was very paranoid when I was pregnant as well and I went without eating lunch meat during the first half of my pregnancy (there is some bacteria in it that can cause a miscarriage if it isn't heated up enough), but then when I asked the Dr he said it was fine. So it is very confusing because why did I read that it wasn't okay. So I did eat it, just in moderation and I heated it up first. You want to limit the amount of mercury that you consume which is found in fish. You can find how much you can eat per week online. My Drs never instructed me about anything. They just expect us all to know it I guess. I would invest in the book "What to Expect when You're Expecting." it is the BEST book out there, very thorough, and a great resource. I used the index in it all the time to look up stuff and they should list in there what to stay away from. I now have the book "What to Expect the First Year" now that my baby is born and it is WONDERFUL as well. Good luck!!
