Modify a Cookie Recipe
I have a great chocolate chip cookie recipe and would like to add oatmeal- should I replace some of the flour or add liquid? Also, If I wanted to freeze cookie dough, is there anything I should do to the recipe?

What about just using a recipe for oatmeal cookies and adding chocolate chips instead?

You can probably do it either way, depending on if you want to make a bigger batch of cookies. You might want to add a little more liquid and a little more baking soda if you're adding an additional cup of oats. Or you could replace a cup of flour with a cup of oats and just add a tiny bit more liquid if it looks like it needs it. Anyway, it should turn out all right :)

Sub out flour, but no more than 1/8th of the flour with oats (meaning that if you have 1 cup of flour normally you use 7/8ths a cup for flour and 1/8th a cup of oats). Liquids should remain the same.

I buy store bought choc. chip cookie mix and measured the amount of dry ingredients. (e.g. 1 1/2 cup of mix) and I mixed in the same amount of oats. (1 1/2 cups oats). I added 1/4 cup applesauce (the snack pack size if you have any extra) and I effectively doubled the recipe with no extra fat or sugar and all the extra fiber.

yes just sub out flour -- but probably 1 cup of oats to 3/4 c flour. You'll need more oats!

I have found terrific oatmeal cookie recipes on there. The only chocolate chip cookies I bake, heck all the cookies I bake, have oatmeal in them.
Mmmm, Yummy
