Hi there, I would like to get my son ( he will be 4 years old in December) into the modeling business here in the Dallas area. We just recently moved to Dallas and I have no contacts here. He is super cute and loves the camera. I think he would have fun and it would be worth a try. Anybody in the business or knows which agency to contact?? Thanks a lot...

You've already got great advice. Kim Dawson, Campbell, Clutts, Linda McAlister and Core are the ones to submit to. Don't bother calling, they don't have time for calls - just go to their web sites and follow their instructions for submitting. I used to be with The Tomas Agency. You could try them too. We are about to sign with Clutts - as soon as my son gets over his strange shoe thing - he'll only wear one pair :) And don't worry about what 'Weezy' has to say. She's been rude to several other people here and is just outto stir up trouble.

There is a lot of work for kids in Dallas if they fall into a sample size category.
Most of the work is with catalog companies. Kim Dawson is the oldest and best known modeling and talent agency in Dallas. The Clutts Agency and The Campbell Agency both have childrens divisions. They generally have you send a photograph into the agency and will contact you if they are interested. There is a very healthy acting industry in Dallas so if your child loves the camera , you might consider this route as well. Both Kim Dawson and Campbell have "talent" as well as modeling divisions. There are other agencies as well, like Linda McAlister and Core Talent. The only thing you should ever have to pay for is a head shot/composite card for your child. No legitimate agencies charge any kind of fees. All of these agencies have websites you can go to and look at the competition in your childs age category. Don't forget theatre. There is a lot of opportunity for kids in theatre productions all over the metroplex.
Good luck,
K

they're having a model search sponsored by Dallas Child magazine today at Willowbend Mall. I think the entry fee is $35.

Of course, NO money upfront by you to anyone legit. They let you know if they are interested.
