So yesterday I took my 17 month old son to get his shots. He received 2 booster. I thought he was suppose to receive his mmr as well. I asked the nurse and Dr. Several times and they repeatedly assured me he had already received that shot in April. I kept thinking they were wrong...so last night I pulled up his vaccine list that he has received on his patient portal..and sure enough he has not received it. I contacted the Dr. And she said I was right and that she read his chart wrong. She told me to bring him back in today to get it or wait until his next check up which is in 2 months. This really makes me nervous...I don't know if I should return back to this pediatrician. We depend on our drs to know what their doing!!! Any suggestions or thoughts on this...

They are humans and all humans make mistakes. This is a minor mistake and I would not change doctors over it, especially if you like the doctor. I think I would give them another shot - if you continue to see errors, then consider changing doctors.
Anyone can read something wrong every once in awhile.
I'd go back tomorrow and get it taken care of.
If it happens a lot over and over again, then it's time for a new doctor.
Take him in to get it. I would not start changing docs over that. Not a biggie in my opinion.
Since he got two boosters yesterday, I'd wait until his next scheduled visit for the MMR.
If this is just one of many things that causes you to think that your doctor is not careful, then sure, change. But if this is the first thing that she's done that was a red flag, I'd write it off as an isolated incident and not worry about it.
i've never expected that doctors are gods, infallible or all-knowing, so no, i wouldn't switch because one had a ditzy moment.

doctors have dozens of patients, sometimes hundreds that pass through their doors, that is why is is important for you to keep up with what you need, not rely on them to remember everything about you or your kids. I would just let him get it at his next check up and move on.
It's for the best. It's a good idea to space out the MMR from other shots. I'd just take him in to his next check up and get it. Keep an eye that they don't do something else, but this doesn't sound terrible to me. My kids' doc had the wrong info for my son's vaccination records. It happens. Just keep careful records yourself.
Wait in the MMR as it can cause a reaction. I would do it the next visit for that reason & keep a close eye on their record keeping. I have to sign a chart with a list if each shot given on each date to give consent for the shot. This is a good chart to review before any shots are given to ensure none are given more than necessary as well.
doctors are humans. my daughter was having seizures and my doctor didn't think they were, and had me waiting weeks to see a neuro. she talked me out of going to the ER in the middle of the night. by the third day, we decided to go to the ER and see what they say. THEY ADMITTED HER A WEEK!!! right then and there they knew they were seizures(not the ER dr, but the pedi neuro). she has epilepsy. I cant imagine if I had followed her recommendations.
all that said, I attempted to look into other doctors. they all get bad reviews from some people. I went to one that got good reviews and it was the worst doctor I ever saw. I had to point out they were using the wrong gender on the growth chart. he said "tell me what the baby is doing" vs asking me specific age appropriate questions, the workers were not nice, the office dirty. but most of all, the doctor seemed intimidated. maybe some moms like that, but I want someone to at least act like they know what they were doing. the next doctor made me pay $60 just to speak with her as a new possible patient, then we wait 90 minutes and finally left, after having to argue for a refund.
bottom line, doctors are human. you take your kid to them for ear infections, strep, shots. but anything serious, take them to a specialist. if you have any doubt, just go to someone for a second opinion. never blindly take advice, you research what they tell you, be aware. they are here to help us, but they are just regular people who make mistakes.
after all the anger I had, I went back. her staff is nice. she is nice. her office is clean and everything is done in a modern way. she always updates herself with the newest AAP recommendations, so I know she doesn't have a god complex. but anything serious, ill get another opinion. good luck
I'd take him in and go ahead. Ask them if they'll not charge you for the visit though. You reminded them a couple of times so it should have been part of that visit.
It was their fault. So they should comp the office call charge.
There's also no reason to not wait until the next visit too.
You can always call your insurance company and ask them if they can send you the list of pediatricians that take your insurance then you can have a back up plan if you want.
If you are worried about the pediatrician, find a new one. We found a new doctor when the doctor prescribed an antibiotic SS was allergic to, and the penicillin allergy was on his chart. I wouldn't put this in the same category.
As for the MMR, I'd just wait til the next scheduled visit. It generally just needs to be after 1 yr old. And for your other question, no, my DD did not have a reaction to the MMR, and she got it an extra time because we got the MMR for travel (couldn't get them split out anymore) and the school district needed one more to "count" because she wasn't 1 yet for the first one.
