I would say if you waited with your first child I would wait with my second child. I feel they give to many shots at a time to a child when there immune system is still developing. If I were to have another child I would vacinate but change the schedule to my liking. Like only give one shot per visit not multiple shots. Both my kids were vacinated up until the age of 18 months. In that time frame they received 19 shots. When I was a kid I only received 7 to 10. Kids born today receive something like 30 or more shots. My son has Autism and my Daughter also has eye contact issues and small speech issues.
Also I can tell you that Donald Trump is vaccinating his child but he said himself that his child only gets 1 shot per visit and they space them apart to I think he said every 6 to 8 weeks. If you go to the following link and scroll down to the second article it talks about how he feels about it.

Can you give me your email address and I will send you information that I have on vaccinations. Just to name a few ingredients in vaccines: antifreeze, formaldehyde, aluminum, mercury and monkey kidneys. This is just a few.

Hi L.. I am also from NY. We moved to Florida 5 years ago. I did all of the required immunizations with both of my children. They are now 7 and 5. My son has a form of autism called Aspergers. In no way do I blame the immunizations. I have seen and read many studies since my son was diagnosed in November and all have shown that the immunizations are not the cause. What is funny is that my husband has been studying the symptoms of aspergers and believes he has a mild form of it and that is how it was passed down to my son.

I am 38 and had the MMR as a child, as did most of my generation, autism was not a concern then. A lot has changed since I was a kid, especially the hormones that the animals are getting, pesticides, etc. These are possible causes.

Children are not allowed to attend public school without their immunizations. The only exception is for religious purposes. If you allow even one immunization, you lose the religious purposes excuse. I am not sure if the private schools run the same way but day care does as well. Day cares are regulated by the state and require the blue and yellow forms be up to date.

my son is 17 months and will NOT be getting the mmr shot. dr. sear's book--"the Vaccine Book" gives excellent information on the ingredients, chances of getting diseased, etc. it is rare to die from measles, mumps, or rubella, so even if your child did contract one of them he would be okay, and have immunity. most doctors do say that mmr has not been proven to cause autism, however, they fail to mention that there is no research showing that mmr does NOT cause autism!

Ya know I have this little voice in my head that is just not comfortable about my son getting the MMR shot and I just have to listen to it. I have read a bit about about it as I am trying not to let it really bother me. But long story short I think as of today (lol) I will get him the 3 seperate shots but I want to wait until he older somewhere around 3-5 years old. We did the first 3 sets of shots and each time I left the ped office the voice got louder and louder so we/I have decided for now we are done.

I wrestle with this as well - my daughter is now 14 weeks. We still haven't done Hep or Polio and I'm making the pediatrician only give her two sheets each month instead of 4 every other month. Do you like your pediatrician? Mine is not as open-minded about not immunizing (although I'm happy in all other aspects). I would consider changing doctors if you are happy with yours because I don't like feeling pressured about the vaccines. I am reading Dr. Sears vaccine book - it's very good and very neutral on the issue. He just reports the facts. I also bought but haven't had time to read yet another book. I forgot the author, but it's called something like "what doctors won't tell you about vaccines" or something like that. If you look up the Dr. Sears book on Barnes & Noble or Amazon.com it will come up as other people who bought this book also purchased this other book - if you know what I mean. I don't think parents are every going to get a straight answer on this issue - Good Luck!
