Milk - Island Lake,IL

I give my daughter organic milk mostly because I like the taste better than regular milk. I have been sending her to daycare with our own milk. What do you all think about regular Deans, etc. milk vs. organic? Do you think her getting non organic milk will hurt her?

I give my kids organic milk also but mostly for the antibiotics that conventional cows are given - those would pass into the cows' milk. I want to avoid those as much as possible. Also, I'm hoping that organic milk has at least some grass feeding (not true, I know), but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Grass fed dairy products are so much better for you.

My daughter drank a lot of milk and still drinks 16 oz a day so I give her organic. I think if you can do it, why not. But one glass a day of regular should be fine.

I use organic milk products and eggs products to cut down the amount of growth hormone and antibiotics that are used in mainstream abusive facilities that grow the masses of cattle and chickens.

If I could afford organic meat - I'd buy all organic there too!

Organic means that the food the cow is fed is organic. That is better for the environment, definitely. But any pesticides used in the production of the cow's food is not likely to turn up in the cow's milk, or if they did, it would be very small quantities. I don't believe it would hurt your daughter to drink it. It's just that organic means a better life for the cow, and a better life for all of us in general (not having so many pesticides in our environment).

A good question that I still have not taken the time research. Maybe this article will help.
