Midwife/Doctor For VBA3C (Vaginal Birth After C-sect)

Hi,
I am seeking the services of a Midwife/VBAC friendly Doctor who will be willing to take me as a patient? I am 5 mnths pregnant with my 4th child and want to have a Natural Birth after 3 C-Sections.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

We moved from Fl to MD on June 1, 2008. We immediately found a midwife and two doulas to assist in my plans for a homebirth. Our sweet Leilani was born at home via VBA3C. It was an awesome experience we will never forget!

Yes, I did this. My doctor had a midwife working UNDER him...this was very good. It was a while ago, and I don't think i have any information. I was in Miami ( also homeschooling, by the way) and it was at the Palmetto hospital/medical center on the palmetto expressway near Miami Lakes. This worked for me! Good luck!

Call the Hollywood Birth Center first (since you're in Hollywood) and/or try the Miami Maternity Center. Midwife is Shari Daniels. Gil Aronson is an OB in Weston who does VBACs.

Dr. Delisa Skeete in Plantation has a reputation for being VBAC friendly and also supportive of natural child birth.

Gil Aronson, the OB listed below in Weston has his main office in Hollywood, in the medical building attached to Memorial Regional Hospital. He is only in Weston one day a week. Fabulous man, I switched to him after ending up with a C with my son (first baby). He is very VBAC friendly, but will ask you to bring the medical records of all of your births and give you an honest opinion of your chances for a successful VBAC. Oddly enough, he was recommended to me by my son's pediatrician who had a C with her first and successful VBAC with #2.

Good luck!

VBAC Dr's are a very very hard find in florida. The Dr. might tell you YES they do vbacs but then the mothers end up w/ a section. A Midwife can not see a VBAC mother unless it is signed off by a Dr.

I would recommend Shari Daniels @ Miami Birth. (miamibirth.com) 305-754-BABY (2229). She has said she will never refuse a VBAC mother. Another plus is they make appointments on Sunday.

I see that you are in Hollywood, The birth center is not far. The Birth Center is right off the I-95 and 119th east.

Also if you want to see her in "Action" she has a show on Discovery Health called House Of Babies. Usally on mon - ____@____.com is where I plan to have my next child. Good Luck in your search.

You can contact Mary Harris, a midwife and owner of A Loving Start ###-###-####. She will know of someone. I just spoke to someone who knows of a doctor at Broward general, I think. I am proud of you! I think if you can find a doctor, you are doing the right thing! Good luck and stick to your guns!!!

This is only the second time in my life I have blogged. Here it goes. I have kids ages 3, 8, and 16. They were all c sections unfortunately. I wanted to experience a natural birth, but it didn't work out. I think its wonderful that you get to do it again. I treasured each time even more than the one before. Anyway, there is a midwife in east Hollywood named Janice Heller. She may or may not still be there. She was wonderful and did more for me during the last two months of my first pregnacy than my doctor did in 7 months. I dumped the doctor and decided to have a natural birth, but ended up having a breech baby so legally my daughter had to be delivered in the hospital. I'm not sure if its recommended or legal for a midwife to deliver a child after the mother has had 3 c-sections. Check it out. Have a safe one!

Hi J.,
Congratulations first of all. I am assuming you live in my area. I used Dr. DiGiacomo in Hallandale for my 3rd. He came recomended by my midwife on the Beach, because i had complications, but Dr. G. is very good, communicative and open. Even though I had a different midwife, his wife is actually a midwife and runs her own birthing center attached to the other side of his office and sees clients right there. He is really open, although i'm sure he has some list of protocol to make sure that there are no other extenuating risk factors. I think you should consider him if he is in your area.
Hope this helps, R.
