I was needing some help deciding on a middle name to go with Julia. Some front runners are Sophia, Alyse (Elise), and Taylor. Which of these three names do you think sound the best with Julia because my husband is set on Julia so no changing the first name but any other suggestions for a middle name would be appreciated! Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Ok--not suggesting the obvious-Julia Goolia ( the Wedding Singer! Lol)

I think a O. syllable name would sound best: Julia Ann, Julia Claire, Julia Rose, Julua May or Maeve?

Also Julia Marie has a nice ring.

Of the ones you listed? I like Elise best.

Julia is a beautiful, timeless name. Of the options you've listed, I much prefer Julia Elise (this spelling only). I'd also put in a word for Julia Rose.

Julia Alyse, definitely. Easy to pronounce, not to mention, it sounds pretty together.

I like Elise best of your choices.

I love the suggestion of Julia Rose.

not crazy about Julia Sophia ( I like that name sofia, but not the "ia" on both of them) HOWEVER if it is a meaningful name to you go for it.

i like middle name s with meanings. My DD is Jillian Gloria. gloria from my grandmother. I know it is not the most poetic flow, but it means so much to me.:)

Alyse (Elyse, Elise) is my fave

Julia Sophia is a mouthful but pretty. If you have a lot of syllables in your last name this may be over doing it.

I don't like Taylor at all with Julia

Alyse is pretty, but if you are open to other names, I like Julia Marie (Muh-ree).

I like Elise. And I would spell it that way.

Alyse looks too much like Alice to me.

With a three or four syllable first name I really like a one syllable middle name, for example my daughter is Olivia Claire.
Do you like any one syllable names?

Julia is a beautiful name!

I don't like Sophia with it because of the two "a" endings but I'm picky like that. I don't like Alyse because of the vowel to vowel thing (Juli-A A-lyse) doesn't sound good to me. Again, I'm picky and some exceptions. My first daughter's name is Chloe Alexandra, vowel to vowel but for some reason it sounds good to me.

Taylor sounds good with it to me. Depends on if it goes nicely with your last name too.

I also like Julia Catherine and Julia Michelle, and Julia Marie, and Julia Lynn.

Good luck deciding and with the pregnancy!

We like to use family names for middle names. My oldest son shares a middle name with his father, and it is also his great grandmothers maiden name. My younger son shares his middle name with both of my grandfathers, and several uncles. Is there a family name that you like that you could use? The first or middle name of your mother or a favorite grandparent or aunt? A dear friend you want to honor?

Julia Marie
Julia Sky
Julia Madelyn
Julia Alyse

I like Julia Alyse best. Julia Sophia is too much -a. And Julia and Taylor, to me, do not go together at all.

Sophia, Elyse and Taylor all seem more like first names than middle names.

I like:
Julia Ann(e)
Julia Rose
Julia Mae
Julia Grace
Julia Marie
Julia Goolia (sorry, couldn't resist the "Wedding Singer" reference) ;-)

Julia Taylor sounds nice, but it also sounds like her first and last name, not first and middle.

I really don't like it when middle names start with similar sounds that the first name ends with. Just my thing, but it doesn't roll of the tongue well. I think Julia Taylor is lovely.
