I want to enroll my 4 year old daughter in gymnastics. I am trying to decide between ASI and Metroplex. Can someone please share information about these facilities?

What can I do next?

I do not know about the ones you are specifically asking about, but have you looked into Eagle's Wings in Allen? I have heard good things about them.

Hi K.

I currently have my 4 1/2 yo son in ASI. I have also been to Metroplex for the Open Gyms, but not any classes.

ASI is new (obviously) and therefore clean. What I like about it that there is alot of equipment (ex. trampolines) so the kids never have any waiting time during class. The teachers are mostly young (I would guess college age or above), but they have a good structure and work well with the kids. The kids rotate areas (Trampoline, beam, stretching, etc.)every 10 minutes so that they don't get bored.

One time I was at Metroplex and I saw a little boy fall through the side of the trampoline onto the floor. They had safety tape there, but it was by no means strong enough to hold anybody. Plus, I had seen it there for several months, so they hadn't attempted to fix it. That bothered me because I was worried about what else was in disrepair, you know hwat I mean? So when I gof or open gym I closely supervise my kids!

I do have a friend (who transferred to ASI frm Metroplex) say that although she switched, she was happy there.

I hope that helps you! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Both gyms have a great name for recreational or preschool gymnastics. My daughter is on a competitive team and I have learned that what you want from the gym will determine the best gym for you. My daughter's gym has a pre-team for 3's and 4's that takes recreational gymnastics just the next step. This is so their form and body position is correct to give a good base for gymnastics, but they still have fun. My daughter's gym is too far from you, but I would be happy to give more advice if you could send a bit more info about what you would like to gain from the program.

Good Luck,
T.

I have two preschoolers at Metroplex, and they love it. They have highly trained adult instructors, unlike ASI where its just high school students. I would definitely recommend Metroplex over ASI!!

I have taken my daughter to Metroplex for 3 years. She loves her teacher. They are all trained well. My son just started this year as well. They also have swim lessons. I love getting to be able to chat with other moms while they are in class as well as watching them do their rotation. This is a family owned business and the children of the family are also teachers as well. My kids love going there.
