Metal Mouth

Nope, not an orthodontic question...

I am about 7 weeks along and I am so incredibly nauseous throughout the day with a metallic taste in my mouth at all times. Any and all suggestions to make this go away are welcome- even if it's just to remind me that it's normal and should pass with time. Bleh.

What can I do next?

According to this, acids (like citrus and vinegar) should help:

Had the same exact thing when I was pregnant, it went away around the 10th week. My doctor said it was normal and recommended brushing my teeth and using a rinse to help with the bad taste. Ultimately, I had to deal with it till it went away on its own. Good Luck!!

CONGRATS!!!

it could be your pre-natal vitamins? Call your OB/GYN and let them know. When I was pregnant and had the iron taste in my mouth -if I ate an orange it would help.

GOOD LUCK!!

Take your vitamin at night with a little food. I had this happen with every pregnancy.

That's perfectly normal...eat lemon ices! It really works. Also sucking on a hard peppermint candy helps.

I had that too. It is how I knew I was preggers with my second.

The only thing that worked for me was to suck on peppermints or chew gum and drink lots of water.

Hope you are feeling well other than this!

my doc said I could take 25mg of vitamin B6 three times a day,or take 1/2 a unisom 3 times a day and that will help with nausea. Call YOUR doc and see if he/she reccomends those.
