Mesh/breathable Crib Bumpers?

Now that my 10-month-old daughter is getting more mobile, it seems like she is always getting a leg or arm stuck out the sides of her crib when she's falling asleep. I have not gotten a bumper thus far because of the safety concerns, but now that she can roll over, sit up, crawl, etc. is it still a safety issue? Does anybody have experience with the mesh/breathable bumpers? I had heard that they collapse when weight is put on top of them so they can't be used as a step for getting out of the crib. Is it worth getting one, or just continue going in and rescuing her when she gets stuck? Thanks so much in advance for any thoughts!

What can I do next?

I used one with both my boys and loved it. With my oldest, it kept the pacifiers from falling out, with the youngest, it kept his arms and legs inside. I passed it on to a friend when we were done, it was still in great shape at seven years old. Get one!

We have one and love it! Our best use is keeping arms, legs, and the binky in the crib. My youngest is 1 1/2 and he still has it in his crib. I lucked out and found ours at TJ Maxx on clearance!

wow, I didn't know that these exsisted! great. With our 2 year old, my hubby ended up putting up a mesh around the whole crib, tighly secured, because he kept getting his feet stuck. We have a 3 month old now and I was never a big fan of the whole crib mesh, so I will definately look for these. Thanks ladies!

Try a crib tent. It solves the stuck appendages issue, can't be used as a "step" and if you zip the top, will prevent baby from climbing out when that time rolls around. here's a link.

we used one with both of our kids and it worked great - also kept the pacifiers from falling on the floor behind the crib! :-)

Definitely worth getting one. We tried not using one and our son once woke up screaming horribly -- got a leg or arm stuck in a bad position in the bars. The breathable crib bumper put an end to that.

Got one and I love it. Never needed anything with my first but my second was always getting limbs stuck. There is no way they could use it to get out. I would highly recommend it!

My first got stuck all the time and I wish I'd known about the breathable bumpers. When I got pregnant with my second, I got em right away before he was born and he used em til he was about a year old (started walking). I just felt he was mobile enough at that point to get himself out if stuck. Funny thing is that he wasn't and I put em back in a week later. So, yes. Get them. I think they are helpful. I don't think they are dangerous at all if installed correctly. My only gripe really is that they tend to sag and need to be refitted and changing sheets with em on is a pain. Seems worth it to me though. I've seen em on craigslist if you want to spend less to try em out.
