Menstrual Cycle After Having LEEP Procedure
I was just wondering if any one else has had a LEEP procedure done to remove pre-cancerous cells and if so, was your menstrual cycle thrown off? I know the procedure can cause spotting for a week or so, but I only spotted for a day. Now I'm actually bleeding like a period (which I shouldn't of started for another week) but I'm bleeding lighter than usual. (not that I'm complaining) LOL I have read different things on different web sights so I'm Just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and if it's normal.

Hi T.,
Stress can always change a woman's cycle. As long as you are bleeding a normal amount for you, I would not worry.
If you bleed and fill one pad in an hour or the equivalent, and your bleeding continues at that rate, CALL YOUR DOCTOR!
I wish you well.
Take care,

I had the LEEP procedure done about 5 years ago and I bled just like you are experiencing a few days after having the procedure. I'm pretty sure that it is normal. :)

Hi, T.. I have not had the LEEP procedure, but was wondering how it went for you. Was it expensive? I have pre-cancer cells. When did they tell you they should be removed?

The same thing happened to me when I had the procedure! I was concerned because I have very regular periods, but after a couple pregnancy tests were negative, I just figured it was because of the procedure. After about 3 months I got back to normal cycles, this may be faster for you if you're on the pill.
