Melted Wax on My Carpet

Hi there, I live in Moore, OK and after the May 3rd tornado we was with out electric for a couple of days and I had to light candles and the same thing happened I got red candle wax on grey carpet. I took a wet towel and layed it over the wax and took a hot iron and layed it on the carpet it took most of the wax out but in some areas it looked like it was stained. Be careful because the towel will get really hot from the iron and also use an old towel because the wax will soak into the towel.

this might sound strange but here goes....

put your iron on low heat, use paper towels and slowly iron the wax up...it takes time so you might want to do this during naptime :)

You can try a brown paper bag over the candle with a heat iron on top of it.

take a browm paper garbage bag and your iron. Put the bag over the wax and then run the iron over it...it heats up the wax, the paper absorbes it and voila! I've had MANY of mishaps with wax. Just keep using new paper nad running over it until the wax is gone.

One thing I tried when this happened to me: put a brown paper bag over the spot and then iron it with an iron on a low setting (prevents scorching). Continue to rotate the bag or change it out so it will continue to absorb the wax. Worked like a charm for us! Good luck.

Soooo easy!! place paper towels flat over the wax and one layer of wax paper. Iron over the top and watch the wax melt and absorb into the paper towel!! ALL DONE!

Hello! This trick works well on carpet and upholstry...

Place a fresh paper towels on the wax and gently press your clothing iron on top of the paper towel. This will warm the wax and PULL the wax into the paper towel. Lift the iron periodically to make sure you are not "burning" your carpet! Continue heating the wax and switching to a fresh paper towel until all the wax is out of the carpet.

I learning this trick from my sister after a candle spill at my home. Thank God for smart sisters!!!

Try melting an ice cube on the carpet and then picking the wax out.

Try putting ice on it. Once it's really cold it should just pull off.

I would try warming it up with a blow dryer and then blotting it up with a damp cloth...not sure what to do about the stain it might leave though.

The brown paper bag and iron definitely works! I knocked over my tart warmer full of red wax on my white carpet, and it all came up! (Although the room smelled like cinnamon for a loooong time!)

Google it to be sure, but I did this once and I think you put down a brown paper bag on the wax and then run over it with a warm iron and it will soak up into the bag. Make sure though and good luck.

They make a wax removal kit. It includes a scraper na a solvent. Someone gave it to me after we spilled wax on our carpet. I think I have seen it at Bed Bath and Beyond.

heat the wax with a hairdryer. i should start to pull away from the carpet as it gets hot.

Have you tried using ice? Freeze the wax and you should be able to lift it off.
