Meeting You All!

Hey Ladies!

I was just wondering, have you ever done a meet up with all the women on here? I mean, here we are giving our advice because we care. Do any of you care to meet and greet with all of these great women and see their precious children whom we love to give advice about? Why not do a meet up at Tom Brown park on a weekend sometime...Of course not everyone has to come, but I do notice a lot of women on here stating that they stay at home or they wish to make new friends. Internet friends are great, but what if we could all see one another face to face and make this site even more special?

Just to remind you all...SpringTime Tallahassee will be having the best parade of the year this Saturday starting at 10:30. I'm not sure if I will make it as I will be out of town. But there are fun activities for kids. The kids park is between Duval and Bronough Street. I hear its something to really enjoy! Remember parade safety and keep your children away from the streets while the floats are passing by! Those floats can never stop on a dime!

But what if the last Saturday of the month was good enough for everyone, starting in April to go to Tom Brown park before or after lunch. We could all meet up and just really get to know one another! Take a big stroller walk or anything, watch our little ones play!

Can you imagine how many of us pass one another in the stores, malls, sidewalks everyday and we just gave them some caring advice online? Do you ever wonder who these women are?

Just a thought, sorry if you all think I'm a little crazy, but I don't know anyone in Tallahassee besides my co-workers - not all of them have children so we don't have a lot in common.

so if anyone thinks it sounds like fun (and its free) we could organize it.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

So for those who want to do this...it would be great if we got some parents with kids the same age so that the kids have someone to play with! If that doesn't work out, its still okay. kids love to just play in the park regardless. My kids are 1 and 3. In the summer time I will have my 6 year old step son. If this keeps up we could do it every month. Lets shoot for April 26th, that's a Saturday.
Come one, come all even if your kids are grown, just come out and mingle!

Yes the whole family should come - Dads included. We all know our hubby's could use some "guy time" but I'm sure they don't call it that anymore! LOL

The one decision...before or after lunch? get them tired and hungry, or get them tired and sleepy! LOL what do you Moms think??? or each parent could bring their kids lunch...whatever you all want to do, either way it will be fun for us all!

Hi S.,
I would love to meet the moms of all of these young children. I am a young grandmother and so i have been there and done that.. i might have some advise for some, because i have probably learned by trial and error. I have my last one at home, one of 4 girls. I have a SAH business and love it after many years working and raising kids.
My background is in nursing and I am a nutrition coach and wellness educator. Let me know when your meetings are. be happy to give advise if I can from someone who has raised 4 great girls!

I would love to. I have a daughter who is 6.

Also, do they still have the Children's Springtime Tallahassee Costume Parade? My children enjoyed that when they were young, I think it was at Lake Ella.
My kids are older, coming out of their teen years and in their 20s. Good luck with your toddlers! :)

Hi S.,

This sounds great, and I'm guessing no one thinks you're crazy! :-) I have two under two and even though I'm a full time student and teaching assistant at FSU, I get cagey because I don't ever get to relax with other adults (other than my husband). I think a monthly meet up would be great, and our family would love to come! Let's involve dads too, because my husband would love to meet other dads he can hang out with.

Let me know if you get enough interest!
