Medical Problems, Feeling Down, Need Prayers

I just turned 28 less than a week ago but I feel like 90. I have some serious health issues and I am just feeling really down today. I have struggled with postpartum depression since I had my son 3 yrs ago. After having him, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid arthritis. In February, while running I fell and tore an ACl and haven't been able to have it fix for financial reasons. Back in May, I was in a terrible car accident with my two children (they were 2 & 5m at the time). It left me with 2 herniated disc, 1 bulging disc, and a pinched nerve. Then two months ago, I was diagnosed with a rare gall bladder disease. I just feel so down today. It's hard not to feel like Karma has caught up with me. No doubt was I a perfect person and have done some really terrible things in my past. But at the age of 24, I turned my life over to God and my husband and I became Christians. I pray. I exercise(to relieve pain) but I try to stay away from the med as much as possible. They seem to put me in a state I can't really explain. I do take cymbalta and lyrica but only because the fibro is so intense. I am just just having a very bad day. I know to praise God in the storm but I just need some prayers. I feel like I just have way to much going on in my life with all of these medical issues. And if medical repeats it's self, I have a very long road ahead of me. My husband tries to be very supportive but he doesn't understand. No one understands unless you have really dealt with a certain issues. So, I just really needed to vent and since I have to ask a question, Will you please say a prayer for me? Give me some motivation? Thanks ladies(and gentlemen)

What can I do next?

Wow - you have had a lot happen to you physically in the last few years. But in that you are a testament to God's goodness in that you are still here and your children still ahve their mother, your hsuband still has his wife and you have them. No, no-one will understand what you're going through. My husabnd was in a horrible auto accident and eventually had spinal surgery and I can't feel his pain or discomfort. But I knew he was in pain, I saw the winces on his face.

I hoep you are seeing a good doctor and have consdiered anti-depressents. There are many different kinds so if one doesn't work try another. Do research on different kind of therapies that could work - consider acupuncture (my husband said the results were wondeful), chiropractic, etc. Many chiropractors don't "crack" your back any more - they use other modalities such as heat, electic stimulation, etc.

Another thing to consdier is that God uses your pain and depression in ways that you can't possible imagine to encourage others. Did you know that Dvid, a man after God's own heart, was said to have suffered with depression? That's a reason why the Psalms can be of such comfort - they remind us that God is there with us in the high waters & dark moments. It's also said that Paul (who wrote 2/3 of the New Testament) also dealt with depression and we know that he had some kind of physical ailment since he asked God three times to remove this "thorn" and God didn't.

When I was in the middle of a very dark time in our family's life (my mom was terminally ill, my FIL had just died, my husband was dealining with spinal injury, my daughter tried to take her life) it seemed that God was silent - I prayed, I was on my knees in the middle of the night, I was trying to figure out what I could do and I heard nothing back. But I had to decide if I was going to trust God, who was able to do more that I could ever ask or imagine, or if I wasn't going to trust Him. So one night on the floor of my daughter's bedroom I just decided that He was faithful, and I let it go.

These trials in life bring us to our knees and make us lean on him. They make us realize that we can't do this life alone - or can't do it *well* by ourselves. It also creates in us a resilience and a testimony of God's goodness to others. There will be a day when my experiences and my willingness to trust God will help someone else in a similar situation.

My friend asked our pastor why God allows us to go through tough times. He explained that through the trials we become a lens through which God's grace and goodness shine into dark places that would not be reached by others. God has a plan for yoru life that includes these tough experiences. They will make you into the person you'll be next year, 5 years from now, etc. And you will be able to make an impact in the life of someone else who you'd never be able to reach otherwise.
Read these passages they hold great promises - claim them today to God Isaiah 41:10, Isa 40:28-31, Psalm 73:26, Ps 18:2, Ps3:3-6, Ps 61:3-4 and Ephesians 3:16-20 there are so many more but these should help. Meditate on God's word and your mind will be washed. Don't forget to pray for God's blessings for yourself. We moms are so busy asking for things for others that we forget to ask God to bless us.

"But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint".

(Isaiah 40:31, NLT)

Lord, you know me inside and out.

You know about my pain and distress,

you understand the fears of my heart.

At the cross you endured unabating agony.

You have gone before me into the darkness

And emerged in power and glory.

At this time I lean on You

I draw my strength from Your endless love

And live in Your limitless grace

Trusting in You.

Praying for you, dear lady! You have a lot going on, that's for sure. I wish I had some advice for you!

I really like the advice given below to get into a support group. It's amazing how wonderful it is to connect with someone who truly knows what you are going through and who can, perhaps, give you a ray of hope!

Hugs!!!!

S., God wants us to put legs on our prayers. Get to an RA doctor. You NEED RA medicine to help prevent you from getting worse, so that you don't get "worse permanently". You have to manage your RA.

Diet is important. I think I've mentioned that on another post. Find RA support sites and look at that part - what to eat and what not to.

If you manage your RA, I think that the fibromyalgia will be better.

If you are able to get on disability, you can get on a list to have your gall bladder removed. I would start there. Then try to deal with your back.

Though I'm sure this all seems insurmountable, get a plan. Start your plan. Stick with your plan. Don't let a day go by that you aren't doing your plan. You may find that things are getting better in increments.

Hugs and prayers for you. You've got a lot to deal with at one time. Do you have spiritual/social support? A church?

I had a medically and mentally challenging pregnancy, and my MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers - nondenominational Christian playgroup/moms' group) were my lifeline at that time. The friendships and prayer of this group of ladies was (literally) a godsend. If you don't have this kind of support and you still have a child in your household young enough to join (6 or less), go online and search MOPS and see if there's a group in your area.

Now would also be a good time to lean on your friends and family as well as on the Lord. He gave us the good folks in our lives partly for times like this.

I will pray for you. Hang in there. Sounds you've really had some hard knocks. I'm not a huge fan of doctors and meds at all. No one in my family is BUT my brother was told he needed shoulder surgery and he was determined to do anything to try and avoid that and went to an acupuncturist. Now mind you, he went to THE BEST he could find within a 6 hour drive of where he lived. Within 2 visits, he was cured. Now this has been around for 2000 years so I'm thinking there is something to it! :)
You have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. Do your research and GO!!! I feel positive that this will help with your various needs. If it just relieves or fixes 2 things, isn't it worth it!? I will pray for you, hang in there....
