Meal Ideas for 10 Month Old

Hi, my son is 10 months old and LOVES solid food... i still give him cereal and fruit in the A.M and for lunch sometimes the toddler meals because he is 100% ready for that. I work full-time and i leave dinner for my husband when he gets home, so between that and play time, i dont have much time and i am starting school in Sept. part time. So my question is if any1 has any meal ideas that arent too complicated but that he would like instead of always eating the same thing... thank u!!

What can I do next?

My little guy loves ravioli, rolled up bologna, baked beans, mac and cheese, chicken noodle soup (I drain the liquid), pancakes.

When my pediatrician said it was ok to try egg, I made a batch of mini meatballs. I used ground turkey/beef, added an egg, bread crumbs, sometimes a little grated cheese and even some chopped frozen spinach then bake. I then froze them in ziploc bags (2 to a bag). You can take out 1 ziploc bag in the morning and microwave around dinner time, cut in little pieces and serve. It is also a great way to sneak in some veggies!

Every once in a while I buy the Gerber graduates pasta pickups for my son! He loves them and they are very easy too! My son is almost 11 months old and he eats whatever we eat! His favorite thing is pork chops, just cut them up small. Don't be afraid to let him eat whatever you eat, it's always easier to make one meal than two!

My 10 mo. old loves avacado. Very soft and very healthy!

The Crockpot can be your savior. Beef roast, pork loin or roast (even chops), chicken breast or even a whole small chicken (the meat falls right off the bone). Add veggies you like (even frozen ones). Add 1/4 cup of water and let it cook all day on low setting.

To add zing, add chopped garlic and onions salt and pepper. marinate the meat the night prior for other added flavor. I would go online and Google Crockpot Recipes and check out sites offering tons. So easy and quick prep. Also, check out Rachael Ray's website or record her show daily at 10am EST for recipes under 30 mins. She's great!! Best of luck.

If you have already ruled out possibilities of a wheat or dairy allergy- then what about dried tortelinis from the pasta section? They have cheese ones or tri colored ones filled with cheese, boil a few in water for 14 min-15 min to make sure they are nice and mooshy, cutting them up as well. I add olive oil and a little parm to mine- tasty and quick

can nuke a sweet potato, wash, poke with fork and put in for13 min... mash. add butter- even cinnamon...

Soup - like hearty progresso and the like are good as well as they are pre softened, you can strain out most of the liquid- probably get more meals for your money than using the mini toddler meals. I am not certain about the sodium content being the same but I am sure the soups can come in low sodium.
