Maternity Clothes

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and I'm trying to find a baby shower dress and other spring clothes. It seems like I can't find decent prices on maternity clothes. I've been to Motherhood and I can't seem to really find what I want. Does anyone know of any thrift stores or secondhand shops in the area that sell maternity clothes?

What can I do next?

There's a consignment store in Royal Oak/Birmingham on Woodward called Slightly Pregnant. There's a great range of clothes from designer down and pretty decent prices. Good luck.

Hi - The resale store called The Funky Frog in downtown Rochester has a rack of maternity cloths. They have spring/summer stuff in store for kids and maternity now. The stuff is always maturing - which means that it will be 25% to 50% off at some point while it is in the store for the 2 months. They are located at 121 E. 3rd Street (just east off Rochester Rd/Main Street - behind the Rochester Chop House and Home Bakery). Open M-F 10 - 6 and Sat 10 - 2. Hope this helps!

Slightly Pregnant on Woodward in Royal Oak is a good place to look. The owner is pretty fussy about what she accepts for consignment. She only has current, nice stuff so it would be worth checking out. Keep it in mind for post-maternity if you want to sell your clothes. I did well selling my things after my last baby.

Congrats! L.

I didn't see where you are from but there is one on woodward called Slightly Pregnant. You can get some nice things there for half the price.

there are 2 maternity resale stores.. slightly pregnant on woodward in royal oak.. and ABC maternity on van dyke.. 22 or 23 mile road.. (maybe shelby township???)

I also found nice stuff at salvation army.. 15 and dodge park or rochester hills stores are the best salvation army..

YOu are only going to wear the clothes for a short while no use spending tons of money..

There is a store called "Slightly Pregnant" on Woodward and I believe it's in Birmingham. Old Navy in Orion (across from Great Lakes Crossing) sells maternity clothes as well.

Hi R. -

I don't know what's available there but there is a new Goodwill shop that just opened a little while ago on Lapeer Rd. between Indianwood and Drahner on the left hand side (Orion/Oxford border) in the strip mall. Remember, you don't always have to stick to maternity clothes, too. You can probably also use clothes made for larger women. There's also a consignment shop in downtown Lake Orion somewhere, too.

Good luck - S.

Check the Mom2Mom sales -- I went to 2 last Sat. and saw a lot of maternity clothes there. I don't know where all the sales are but I found some on www.Mom2Momlist.com. And who knows you might find some great deals on other things you need/want too! good luck and congrats!

They are expensive, aren't they? Especially for things you won't wear that long! :)

My mom purcahsed a lot of maternity clothing for me off of Ebay. I wasn't much of a dress person, but got a beautiful beaded sweter that I wore at my shower for a fraction of what it would have cost at the store.

Remember, too, that the same basic pair of black or neutral pants can be given several looks by changing the top. Good luck and congratualtions!!!
