I am looking for a great mascara. I really don't care about price - I just want a really really good one that makes my eyelashes look great. Does anybody have one they just love?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

After 2 years of trying lots of different mascaras - I have a favorite and a formula for great lashes. I love Dior Mascara - it is the best!! I have used the Diorshow and the Diorshow Iconic and I have used the Diorshow in waterproof and they are all awesome! It is better than anything else I tried!! I did like Mac mascara but it wasn't quite as good - Trish Mcavoy had a good mascara but clumped up really bad if you try to put on a second coat - Lancome wasn't as good as the Dior and neither were any of the other brands such as Maybelline etc. Also, the other thing I started using is Latisse - it is a prescription that makes your eyelashes grow thicker and longer and it really really works!! There was a concern that it can make the iris darker but I have light eyes and hasn't done anything to them and I have been using it over a year - also I talked to an eye surgeon and a drug rep that sells Latisse and they said there is no way it would make the iris darker and here is why: They found out that patients with glaucoma that were using a certain medicine were getting really long eyelashes so the drug company found out what ingredient was in the eyedrops these patients were using was making their eyelashes longer and thicker and thats what they made the Latisse out of - but since some glaucoma patients had gotten darker irises from the original eyedrops they were using for their glaucoma (not just the Latisse ingredient) the FDA makes Latisse put that warning on the label. The eye doctor also said the glaucoma patients are putting drops in their eyes 5 times a day and Latisse is only used once a day and is not put in eye. Thought I would pass all this information along. I found it all very interesting :)

I have tried many mascaras from Clinique to Lancome to Almay to Maybelline to Loreal. When I was having eye irritations when I first started wearing contacts, Almay was the solution. But, by far, I always come back to Maybelline. Right now I wear the one in the black and white tube that says XXL. I love it. It really plumps up and lengthens my skimpy lashes!

My old favorite was Lancome Hypnose. But now I use nothing but Covergirl LashBlast. The one in the orange tube. It's awesome!!!

Lancome - all of them. I use definicils mostly.....and I have amazing eyes, or so my hubby says! I think it is worth the $20 I pay.

The mascara is a great black color (if you get black of course) - it does not flake like store-bought, and I simply love it!

Arbonne has a great mascara that is a dual volume and also a great lash enhancer that to me is equivalent to Latisse. You can check out web at www.successfromtheheart.myarbonne.com

Hi M.! I used a sample of the Dior mascara and I agree with the person who posted.....it's fantastic!
I was surprised at how much I liked the new Lash Blast (Cover Girl? in the orange tube.....). It's been my favorite so far.
I hate the Nicole Miller mascara. It smells like cigarettes and didn't really do much for my eyes. Also, I thought I would love the Aveda mascara but it was a grave disappointment.

Good luck in your search!

If price really isn't a factor, consider wearing no mascara! I have eyelash extensions and I love them! My blond (invisible) eyelashes are a thing of the past. I wake up with long, dark lashes and don't worry about smudges or globs any more! And they're so thick, I don't even need eyeliner anymore. Sometimes I skip the whole eye makeup routine and just slap on some lip gloss before I run out the door.

good luck!

I love Revlon's Voluminous Waterproof Mascara. I'm 1/2 Asian and with that I have very short, thin eyelashes. I also like Great Lash by Maybelline. Whatever you try that works for you, please post back so that I can try it too!

I love Maybelline's "Lash Stiletto." I use the very black. It gives you a shiny finish and makes your lashes look long and beautiful.

I've had a lot of luck with BADgal Lash mascara. I get it at Sephora in black. It's about $20 per tube but is pretty good at generally thickening and lengthening. I have very fine, non distinct eyelashes. Hope you find one that works for you!

I want to be cost conscious when making any purchase, but I won't skimp much on make-up I love. I've tried tons varying from more expensive department brands to every kind you could find in the drug stores. My favorite is always, Loreal Voluminous Original in black. It makes my lashes nice and long without having to use ton. For me .. it's a winner and it's easy to find most anywhere for a great price.

I love the Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara, and would be happy to send you a sample. MK also has a "mommy-proof" waterproof, and great lash-lengthening. (The Ulitmate is very water resistant, and has good lengthening and thickening abillities with one coat.) It retails for $15 and comes in black and black-brown.
You can check it out on my website, and call or email me if you would like a sample. www.marykay.com/taddison4
p.s: The snow is really starting to come down outside, and looks SO pretty!

I am another lover of Dior BlackOut Show mascara! It's awesome!! Another one that I really like that is a little more off the radar is by Guerlain. You can get it at Neimans and possibly Saks. They do have testers for you to try first. LOVE LOVE LOVE them both!

Max Factor's 2000 Calorie mascara is a great one. It's hard to find it, though. I recently couldn't find a replacement and tried CoverGirl's LashBlast. It was super at the beginning but then got extremely clumpy after a couple weeks.

Good old Maybelline Great Lash. It's been my go-to mascara since I was 14. I have tried the rest thinking that there might be something better out there and I ALWAYS come back to Great Lash and it's pink and green packaging. Always.

Nicole Miller...it looks great and doesn't destroy your lashes like a lot of drug store and dept store brands. all of her cosmetics have pharmaceutical grade vitamins and botanicals so everything is healthier looking.

I love the Bare Minerals mascara! The brush has tons of bristles and really seperates and makes your lashes look really long. It is great! I have several friends who have switched to it & love it too. You can get Bare Minerals at Ulta, Sephora, and Penn Square Mall has a Bare Minerals store and the girls there are very helpful. When you go, don't wear mascara and they will put it on you to try it out. Enjoy!

For years, and I mean years, I tried to find the perfect mascara for me. I tried all the department store ones and over the counter. I finally gave up! About a year ago I was at Nordstrom with a friend who was buying Dior mascara which is the only one I think I hadn’t even tried. She raved about it so I let the makeup artist there try it on me. I fell in loooooove with it! I’ve been using it ever since. I think everyone has to find the perfect match for their lashes. Not all lashes are created equal =-) Too bad we can’t try on mascara like try wine at wine tasting! Good luck!
