Martial Arts in Northcentral SA?

My 3-year-old daughter (She will be four in February) wants to start karate. Can anyone recommend a great school for her age around the Stone Oak area? I was hoping for a class- once- maybe twice a week in the mornings or early afternoons. I do not want it to be competitive, but just something for her to do. Does anyone have any experience with the Victory Martial Arts Studio at Blanco? Thanks for any suggestions.

You may want to take a look at US Taekwondo Center at 281 & Thousand Oaks (same shopping center as Taco Cabana & Jim's). Mr. Nguyen (pronounced "win") is a 4th degree black belt and is WONDERFUL with kids. He teaches all age groups and the kids always have fun with him (he even has an after school program if you daughter decides to stay in it that long). Having trained with him for 5 yrs, I've noticed that all the parents and kids are very pleased with him. For questions his phone # is ###-###-####. Good luck!

We attend Victory Martial Arts at Blanco and Huebner in the Stone Oak Area. My son has been doing it for 1 1/2 years and likes it alot. Mr. Friburg is the guy in charge. He's great with kids.

my neighbors belong to victory. they really love it! however, they are in a long term contract....so be prepared for that.....which is fine if you plan on going that route...but is hard to predict what your kid will be interested in month to month at your daughter's age.

We love Victory. We go to the Blanco and Huebner location. My kids started in Nov. and are doing great. They focus on family, discipline, and self-esteem. They teach w/ a great balance of sternness and compassion. They encourage families to enroll together. We did but, the husband and I haven't started the class yet. They have great rates but, it's the equipment that is expensive so that is why we will have to wait a while. There is no pressure on their part. Give them a try. Go by for look-see.

My daughter who is now 7 takes karate at Victory. Her dad is also taking classes with her and they both love it! They have been taking classes since August of 2007 and they are having a great time. We love Mr. Fribourgh, who is the main instructor at the Blanco location. We also love the rest of the staff. They are great with the kids and they all seem to have fun.

My daughter and her daddy will be getting black belts next December! The thing I love the most is the self-confidence it gives her. Also, they teach a self-defense form for each testing period, which gives her even more confidence!

There are also lots of kids from the area taking there. Give it a try, they will let you try it out for free. Also, check your mailers and they sometimes run specials. Please feel free to contact me privately and I will give you more information.
