Good luck I hope you can get everything worked out...if you go thru a divorce it is not fun....I've been there although for me it has been the best thing my ex did for me...walked out on my son and me.

Hi D., Take it from someone who will be married 25 years on the 21st - marriage is a LOT OF HARD WORK. I could write a book on what my hubby & I have been through - including a year of separation. We continue to work through things.

I would never have been able to do this without my faith in the Lord. I won't go into all of that, because the main thing I wanted to tell you is that our church (in Frisco) is starting the "Fireproof" Your Marriage the end of this month. The movie is out on DVD now with Kirk Cameron. It's $40 per couple (for the book, etc) and is once a wk for 7 weeks. We had the sessions during the end of the yr 2008, and there were awesome testimonies from couples that attended - whose marriages were on the brink of divorce. The capacity is only for 50 couples - so if you are interested, check it out - quicky. :)

I just prayed for you dear lady-- how this broke my heart to read on Valentine's Day morning. I don't know of anyone to help you for this particular situation. I do know that you can call Focus on the Family www.focus.org and they will refer you to Christian counselors in the area if you are looking for a Christian counselor. I am so very sorry. Urging you to try and find the counselor before the lawyer if you can. Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco also has a counseling department. I don't know if they do long term counseling or not, but I am sure they could refer you to someone who would. I have been to Dr. Laura Hawk in Plano for some other issues-- phobias for myself and some concerns with my preschooler, but I believe she does do family issues (not from a Christian perspective if you are looking for a secular vantage point). She is very compassionate, a longtime respected reputation in Plano and a female which if I were in your situation I would also appreciate. She is a counseling psychologist, ###-###-####, 5068 W. I do not have the above reommendations but I do have a book that could make you comfortable in what ever decision you go with. It is called 'The proper care and feeding of husbands' by Dr. Laura Slessinger. please if you do not mind, let me know if it made a difference after you read it.
