Making Friends

I am new to the UT state and don't know a single person other than my child and my husband, my baby is 2 months old. How should I go about making some friends? is there a MOPS (Mothers of preschoolers) group here at all? I am just so tired of being so lonley all the time, my husband works during the day while I'm at home with Alyssa. HELP!

What can I do next?

I don't know about MOPS, but there is www.saltlakecitymommies.com. It has playgroups for all ages, mom's night out, chats, area groups, etc. Plus, it is a good place to go for local moms, and advice. Come check us out!

Hi A.!

I don't know where you live, but there are a couple groups I know of in Utah that are FABULOUS and very supportive and you can make a lot of friends.

If you live in Utah County, go to Utahcountymommies.com.
And if you live in Salt Lake County, go to Saltlakecitymommies.com.

I had a hard time making some friends after my little one was born last year because all of my other friends were either not married or didn't have kids yet. But when I found these sites, I made a lot of new friends! I love it! I don't know what I would do without them.

Hi A.,
I belong to MOPS! I love it. We meet every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at Grace Community Bible Church in Sandy, 11592 South 1300 East. Childcare is provided, but please call Peggy Douglas ###-###-#### so we have enough childcare workers. There are 3 other MOPS groups in the SL area...you can check them ____@____.com. Email me if you want ____@____.com

If you love to scrapbook you can always find a lot of friends that way here in Utah. There are 2 differnt scrapbooking companies that do at home demonstrations and then some do monthly activities/projects on the side. I don't know if you have heard of Stampin Up or Close to my Heart, but you can look them up online and get information on there about Hostess parties. You can meet new people there, and possibly get involved with on the side groups in your area.

I live in Sandy. I know the library has some really good reading time for babies. That would be a good way to find others, Also try www.utahfamily.com. They have a lot of good idea's. Look under the no more bored kids and they have play groups, moms clubs, moms night out, etc. Michaels Craft Store also has a scrapbooking night every other friday I think. You can check into that too.
Good luck and welcome to Utah.
