Magazines for Tween Girls

Hi All,

My 9 1/2 year old niece would like a magazine subscription for Christmas. Anyone know any good magazines for that age range?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

My daughters - ages 8 and 11 - both love the National Geographic Kids magazine - and so do their parents - LOL ! We all fight to read it when it comes.

American Girl has a magazine that my 11 year old enjoys.

Does she have any hobbies or interests? Maybe a craft magazine? If she likes animals, you might consider Ranger Rick which is a beautiful magazine from the National Wildlife Federation. There is no advertising so you are not bombarded with questionable ads. It is recommended for age 7-14 and they also have a puzzle/game subscription too. They also have some magazines for younger kids too. I think National Geographic also publishes a Jr. Edition.

Zoobooks is a great magazine is she likes animals

American Girl is about the only one you'd want her to read - it has craft ideas, advice columns, etc. My daughter loved it at that age. There's also Highlights - but my kids never really liked it much.

Another vote for American Girl magazine.

My oldest loved National Geographic Kids and my youngest enjoyed Discovery Girls.

My daughter was crazy about American Girl magazine at that age. She also liked Discovery Girls.
