Lunch Bags

Can you wash cloth lunch bags? It has a white liner on the inside and the outside is cloth. My son's juice spilled in it and the juice can apparently get through the white liner because the lunch box was dripping. I was thinking of soaking it in hot water and soap but will it dry out between the liner and outside or will that water get moldy under the white liner where I can't see it? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have been washing my kids lunch boxes for years, the same one's with a liner... I usually stick it in the dryer on 'low' for a few minutes, then let them air dry. I have been doing this every Friday for YEARS and they're still intact!!

I have washed ours a few times with no problems. I just let it air dry outside. Beware though, a friend washed hers and the character washed almost completely off.

I wash my son's lunch box several times a week. I either wash it by hand using dish soap and a sponge or I put it in the washer on delicate. I air dry it. I've been doing this since he was in kindergarten and now he's in 2nd grade.

Yes, I've done it. I've also soaked them in the sink with soapy water. Then I put them in the dish dryer for a full day to dry.

I sit them in the sink, fill them up with warm or hot water with a little dish soap and add some bleach to sanitize them. I let them sit for a little while then wash them out well. I turn them upside down to drain and dry.
