Low HCG Levels - Omaha,NE
Just wondering if anyone ever had a hard time with their HCG levels with any of their pregnancies, My first I had taken 4 or 5 tests and a blood test and they were all negative and my second it showed up right away. I'm just wondering how long it took for some of your tests to show up positive, I think I'm pregnant again but the tests are negative. thanks

It took me 5 weeks after I got pregnant for my HCG levels to change enough for a positive. I have always had wacky levels so that played into it, if you think you are pregnant just keep taking the tests. I would wait a little bit between each one, hard I know but try to fill the time so you are not always thinking about it. Also could you ask for an ultrasound, I deal with ovarian cysts now and my Dr always sends me for an ultrasound to see if I am pregnant or have a cyst the same day I see her. Worth asking you Dr.

Your levels double every other day and tests pick it up at different levels. EPT (if I remember correctly) will test positive when your HCG is 40. The early testing ones will pick up around 25, I think. I think, typically, it will show up around 1 -2 weeks after implantation. Blood tests should show it any level though. I had one blood test show my level at 17. My levels weren't increasing and doubling the right way and I ended up miscarrying that pregnancy.
Good luck to you!

It may be too early to tell especially if your cycles are not regular

I'm 7 weeks right now.
I got a faint positive starting on 10DPO with the dollar tree tests. They have a sensitivity of 25 BUT they never show anything more than a faint line.
I took test every single day after that (various brands) and it always came up positive. So I've seen those early pregnancy tests work. I didn't get a single negative after 10 DPO.
Oh and there is this great website that shows the sensitivity of most tests. It's peeonastick.com
check it out. It will show you what tests have to have an hcg level of what to show positive plus it shows some results on false positives and evap lines. Very informative!
