Lots of Baby Talk

Welcome to your life with commentary. My son is the same way, and has been just like yours--since he could start making sounds it hasn't stopped. At 18 months he seriously can say over 100 words and is starting to string them together. Encourage it!! at 11 months he is starting to really put it all together in if you really start to focus in on a couple of specific words at a time now, he can start to understand basic things like More and Bottle and Water, etc. (you can even start to teach please--its not too early!!) Then it just gets easier to communicate and less frustrating for him.
Also--consider the source. I do not ever shut up. I am in sales and could seriously talk all day and all night. I expect my kids will be the same way!!

Well, my son started talking actual words at about 8 mos. He is now 4 1/2 and I'm still waiting for him to stop. I wouldn't worry about him being a talkative child. My son is very outgoing and talks to everyone everywhere we go. Not for one minute is he shy. I don't ever have to worry about him huddling between my legs in public because he is constantly introducing himself to people and asking their names. So if he's talkative now, maybe that just is the pre-requisite for a big outgoing personality. Get use to it momma...you've got your hands full.

I'm not exactly sure I know what your question is, but of course your baby has wonderful verbal skills is he's chatting up a storm. My son (20 months) was an early talker, but a late crawler and walker, which is usually how it goes.
Anyway, keep up the great work and keep him talking! :)

Oh Yeah! He is figuring out how to make those sounds and experimenting.. You keep talking to him normally,and slowly enough for him to hear the word pronounced well(not baby talk on your end..) and soon enough he will be talking right back, in a language you can understand. Aww I miss those baby babble talking days.. =( I'm jealous!!

I think there is a definite correlation! My son "talked" early and has never stopped and my mom said I was the same way.

My daughter was the same way. She "talked" a lot too, but that didn't translate into an early talker. She's 3 1/2 now and her speech is still filled with lots of nonsense words. She is definitely a talker though and very outgoing with other children.

the answer i found is yes! my son talked from 3mos and is now 15 and allhe does is talk all day all night always wanting to "educate" me...hey mom did you know...blah blah blah.....he is also on the phone allllllll the time!

My older son, as a baby, was just like your son with "talking." He spoke lots of what my husband and I affectionately called; "Chinese". He has always been VERY talkative and still is @ 19 years old. (He is also very comical and still keeps us laughing a lot)I remember hearing: "A-deedle-deedle-dyedle" a lot from Cooper as a baby, and by 19 months old he was saying; "Momma, I wa-sum milk in my cup!" My husband and I both read to our sons from the day they were each born, until the age of 10 and 12. Even though they could read to themselves by age six, we kept it going for the enjoyment of it. My younger son, Connor, has always been one who quietly takes things in, thinks about what's going on and then calmly tells you what his thoughts are on the matter. He has always been that way, even as a baby, so yes, I do believe your son will always be a talker. Be sure to pay attention to what he says to you too..... it's such wonderful stuff, so you will want to always have pen and paper around so you can write stuff down! He'll say the cutest and funniest things and you will think that you won't ever forget them, but you might forget, if you don't write it down. I told my sister about something really cute that Cooper said to me as a two year old, and a few years later, she reminded me of it and I had totally forgotten all about it!!! I was so glad she remembered all the cute details! Enjoy and encourage it all..... it truly is precious stuff!
