Losing Weight with a Throid Problem
I have Hypothroidism. I'm on meds but I'm still gaining weight. Has anyone with this problem been able to lose weight. My weight has never been this much even when I was preg. with my three children. Starting to feel really bad...

Add 30 minutes to 1 hour/day of walking/exercise to a change in diet and I'll bet you'll be doing great in no time.

I take synthroid and can lose weight. Same with my sisters. Are you sure something else isn't going on?
I have a good diet. Let me know if you want more info.

I am sorry that you are having a weight issue. I know that really can impact how you feel about yourself. I am wondering if your medication has your thyroid levels corrected. Maybe you should have your dr. run some blood tests and make sure.
I also have hypothyroidism. I sometimes have trouble losing weight. I recommend the Denise Austin website. You will find an eating plan, support, exercises and much more. I lose weight when I follow their eating plan. You can find it at www.deniseaustin.com. Good luck and I hope you get it all figured out.

Hey, A.. Of course it's necessary to check with your doctor. My company has a great weight loss program (RESET) and you can check it out at my website: www.foley.usana.com USANA is a very reputable company and has been around for about 15 years. I'm currently using the RESET program to reshape and get on track for the new year.
Good luck!

Get your levels checked by your doctor. If they come back good, then it's most likely what you're eating. Extra calories can sneak in when you least expect it, ESPECIALLY non-diet beverages and food you eat in restaurants (restaurants are BAD for adding extra fat from things like butter and cream to add flavor). My suggestion is to record the calories from what you eat for a week. If you are eating more calories than 10 times your weight, that's why you're gaining weight. To lose weight, you should be eating calories that total less than 10 times your weight daily (but no less that 1200 calories a day because that's not safe). For example... let's say you weigh 180 pounds. If you're eating 1800 or more calories a day and not exercising, that's why you're gaining. If you're eating less than 1800 with or without exercise, you're guaranteed to lose weight (as long as your thyroid levels are normal).
