I was wondering if any mom's out there know how to lose the nasty fat that hangs from the arms? I've been disgusted with my arms I don't even wear tank tops. I have a graduation I' going to in June and I would like to wear something nice. So, if anyone has info it would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

I love to answer fitness questions. I know what you mean about fat in places you didn't have. It all comes out to bodyfat. Everyone has aspecial place we like to store fat and we have no control over it. The best thing to do is lose bodyfat by exercising 3 times a week for at least 20-30 minutes and wieghttraining 2x a week for 30 minutes. Yes its hard work, but you will get a leaner, tighter, fitter beautiful body. Sorry no short cuts to losing flab. Join a gym, class make a group of moms. remember, wraps, pills, quick fixes don't work.

Hi S.. I have chunky arms myself and have always disliked them. Your best bet is to lose weight in general, since you cannot make your body shed fat in a specific area (no matter what various fads will tell you, it just doesn't work that way!). however, i see from your sig that you are pregnant so you probably cannot go on a weight loss program right now. upper body weight training will increase lean muscle in your arms and improve tone so they will look more defined. Beyond that, cosmetic surgery is really the only option and that's not one to enter into lightly (and certainly not between now and june if you are expecting). I'd say do your pushups, watch your weight, and cultivate an accepting atrtitude toward your body... maybe not the answer you wanted but there it is. good luck!

Try raising your elbow and extending your arm over your head like you are trying to put something away on a high shelf. You can use weights or exercise bands, I use exercise bands and it really works for me

Unfortunately, it's not possible to spot-reduce, despite what you see in the commercials. What you can do, however, is combine some arm-strengthening exercises with general weight loss. SparkPeople.com is a free web site with diet and exercise programs. They have lots of exercises you can do at home without fancy exercise equipment. For a quick fix, try some makeup tricks. A little sunless tanning lotion (get a good one, the cheap ones look orange) in the right places works wonders. If you can afford it, make an appointment at a nice salon for a makeup session. A good makeup artist will know exactly where to put it. You can also use foundation if you don't like sunless tanning lotions. Good luck!

Well when I was in school they had us do this exercise with holding our arms straight out from our sides and then we had to make little circles like 50 count and then we had to do the other direction counter clockwise 50 count. It doesn't seem like much but you'll feel the burn after awhile. I guess the other thing would be small weights. Try those. Good luck.

hi, S.!

the best suggestion, besides lipo, is to do tricept exercises, and lots of them. this should help tighten that area by tightening your tricept muscle. it would be easier for you to look up specific exercises on the internet or in a book (or video), than for me to try and explain them. do you belong to a gym? if not, you will at least need to go out and buy some hand weights.

Do military curls with a ten pound weight. You take the weight in your hand, hold it above your head & slowly lower it behind your head & back up again. You should do this in reps of 10 & do 20-30 per session per arm.

S.,

I workout using weights while doing aerobics and it has helped with the fat on my arms. I use a 3 pound dumbbell and sit in a chair and lift my arms back. It is very hard in the beginning but after awhile I have seen great results. It is worth a try.

How old are you children if you don't mind me asking? I have two children ages 3 and 16 months with another child due in August.

There are two things that you can do to help with this. You have to get your protein intake up. On a normal basis, women should be at about 100 grams per day and also there are some exercises that target your arms. Do light weights with high reps. Protein is the key. Use the size of your palm to measure a serving this is equal to about 20 to 25 grams of protein and go with lean meats. Fish and poultry. That is what is needed to build lean body mass.

Call me if you have questions. Hope this helps

try using a weight like a 5lb one and put your arm behind your head( like you want to touch your back), and extend your arm straight keep doing this and it should help build the muscle that is there.

You need to build all of the muscles of your arms...triceps, biceps, shoulders (laterals). All of these together will help tone your arms. Whatever you do, don't just work you triceps!
