Looking to Purchase a Steam Mop

Hi Mamas!

My husband and I just purchased our first home and we are almost ready to move in. We are having carbonized bamboo installed throughout the main parts of our home (carpeting in bedrooms ONLY), and ceramic tile in the bathrooms.

I am needing advice and reviews for steam mops. I've been looking at the Haan and (think) I would like to go with that. I also like the idea of the hand-held attachement that you can add for use on the bed/crib matresses(dust mites).

Have any of you owned one? Pros/cons? Recommendations for any other brands?

Hi K.! Do not by the Shark. As the previous responder commented, it is not worth the effort! It does not clean very well on my ceramic tile. I tried the H2O model from a friend and prefer that one to my Shark. Good luck in your search.

I bought a Shark...and took it right back to the store. It made steaming noises like an iron, the water container area got warmish, the pad got wet, but it wasn't even warm to the touch. It just leaked water out of the middle of the pad and streaked it across my floor. I tried to get it working for 25 minutes, read and reread the directions, no luck! What a piece of junk! Waste of money!

I really would like a steam mop and if anyone is having success with another brand, please share!

I got the Shark for my birthday (at my request) and I like it okay. I wish I had held out for the Haan because I like the ability to clean more surfaces than just the floor. Just my $.02.

THE BEST floor steamer/sanitizer I got (from a friend that has one) is the HAAN floor steamer/mop. It's easy to use, super-light and I now can clean my floors/counters/ and upholstery with NO cleaning products/chemicals. I was really worried about my little ones crawling around and what I was using to clean the floors and this is great. Here is a link - I found the best price through Amazon. Good luck! :)

Congratulations on your house! Yeah, I was looking to ease housework myself, being a working mom and all. I purchased a steam mob (the EuroH2Oflo) and it was a big disappointment. Not only it worked badly, it was hard to use (maybe one day they come up with a cordless version), but it BROKE at the third use. I tried to get my money back, but Amazon (where I originally purchased it) didn't help, and the manufacturer promised a replacement (which I don't want), but I'm still waiting. The steam idea looked good in the infomercial, but it really doesn't make moping easy. Now I want to try the microfiber mob from Solutions.com (you can wash the head in the washing machine, it comes with two, and it's half the price!). Hope that helps.
