Looking to Loose 15 Lbs, Need a Workout/diet Plan

My daughter is almost 9 months old now... it's time to do something about this flab! I was 125 pp and I was 165 when I went into labor with Kayleigh. CRAZY, how I lost 25 lbs. when I got home from the hospital. I went down to 140 and was breastfeeding... I thought, this is bound to come off! NO... it hasn't... and I stopped breastfeeding 2 months ago.

I've actually gained 5 lbs. I'm now 145, not breastfeeding, and really want to try to loose 10-15 lbs. I don't have much time in the day as I work full time and when I get home I'm exhausted but just want to play with my daughter. I've got to cut my portion size in meals, I know that, as I still eat like I'm pregnant.

Does anyone know of any sensible work out plan I can do at home? Something I can download and do from home without going to a gym? My co-workers are insanely trying to get me to do P90X, an INSANE workout plan, which I'm not prepared to do. I just want to feel healthy again and loose a little weight. THOUGHTS? Suggestions??

What can I do next?

I love Leslie Sanstone walking tapes. You will lose weight fast if you do it a few times a week. Its low key and easy to do and effective!
Also drink more water, less soda you will lose weight doing this too. Also a great diet along with the tapes is the Zone diet, the 40-30-30 diet. The food is easy to make, and delicious. There's even a healthy reciepe for Cheesecake Breakfast! Lol, amazing.

Good luck!

I couldnt get rid of my baby weight either. I was 128 pp and at my daughters one year birhtday 145. I joined weight watchers and am back down to 128 after 9 weeks.

I've never done an official diet plan before - I've just always been active and tried to make healthy choices, but that was not working for me this time.

I REALLY recommend it.

My husband does P90X... it is crazy. I myself do belly dance. I can't just "work out" for work outs sake. I need to DO something I feel is worthwhile. Netlix has a few belly dance DVD's, that are pretty good to start out with. If you don't like it return them! There are classes once you get past the basics in virtually all areas in the USA.

Cutting portions is great but you may want to eat 6-7 small meals with snacks a day. Drink plenty of water. Introduce a 15-30 minute exercise plan in the mornings before you get dressed for the day. I used to do some jumping jacks, running in place, deep knees bends, sit ups, push ups, and leg lifts. Jumping rope is fun or throwing on some of your favorite dance music and dancing.

Loosing the weight is easy. Getting muscles back to toned is harder. Honestly having a baby does rearrange your body. So while you may get back down to the "right" weight. Things may still be different. Different isn't bad just will need some getting used to the new you.

Love the skin your in. Your daughter will learn how to esteem herself by watching you. So be kind to yourself. None of us are "perfect" but we all matter.

You dont need a crazy work out plan, all you have to do is get 30 minutes of exercise a day and make healthier choices with food. Drink plenty of water, if you have to have a soda then drink a diet one. Dont snack on chips, cookies, candies etc. instead grab a piece of fruit. Eat smaller portions, and when shopping get the fat free, low fat, reduced cal, low sodium stuff. Watch your intake on sugars and salts. If you do these things, I guarantee you the weight will fall off. Buy a scale, you will see the pounds fall off week by week.

If you have On Demand with your cable TV, they offer alot of free workout videos and there are always a bunch of quick 15 minute ones as well as 20, 30, 45 minute and hour long videos that you could try.
I have found the easiest thing to do is just run. I don't have to think about it and it gives me some time to myself as well as well as reenergizes me.
Protein bars and ready made protein shakes are great to take on the go as well.

I lost 5 lbs the past three weeks when I just stopped drinking my regular "one soda a day." I replaced that soda with water and fruit if I needed a sweet treat.

Other than that, I am not much of a worker-outer. But little bits I've heard have helped me - one idea I like is "when you are about to sit down, stand back up and then sit down." It will work your butt and your abs and legs. Another was "When you answer your phone, stay standing or walk." Just another little way to remind yourself to stay active and keep moving.

Put your baby in the stroller and go for a walk. Walking is great for fat burning. If you need a kick-start on your diet, do Slim Fast or something for a couple of weeks. I always "chub up" during the winter because I'm totally unmotivated to go walking when it's dark and cold outside, and then I need to lose 15 pounds come springtime! Anyway, Slim Fast is a good way to get your appetite back to normal so you're used to smaller portions again.
