Looking to Find/Start an 'Unemployed' Mom's Group in South OC

Have you checked meetup.com? I have found several of my clubs on this site and love having like-minded people to chat with. You can search distance to you or by category, etc.

Have you ever thought of working from home? There are many opportunities out there that require very little time or effort. They often let you form your own schedule and you set the pace.

Hi M. - I was unemployed a couple years ago and started my own home based business that it really wonderful and paying off in so many ways for my family now. I think in many ways this economy will motivate women make more options for themselves. I think starting this group you're talking about is such a great idea. You never know when one of your group may have a connection that could lead you to a job that wasn't a fit for her, but may be for you. And of course, just having other women to lean and and support each other is so valuable in itself. I would recommend Linkedin. Also, try CollectiveX and search for a group called OCEAN. There probably aren't specific groups for Unemployed Mothers but at least going to the events you'll have the opportunity to meet other unemployed mothers. Several people are networking now at business events hoping to meet the right people to lead to a job.

I have a friend who is unemployed and has 4 boys - her husband was in an accident and they are now homeless. She has a 4, 5, 13 and 18 year old - all boys. She has great ideas and resources and you two should hook up! She writes an inspirational blog -
