I'm looking at the Baby Trend Sit/Stand combo or the Phil and Ted's E3. The Sit/Stand looks like it would be a good one for us, seeing that I have a 4 month old and a 2 1/2 year old, but just need some advice. The Phil and Ted's E3 looks amazing, but it's almost $500.00. Yikes. Any advice? Is the Phil and Ted's worth the money? Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the advice regarding the stroller issue. I've decided to postpone my buying for now. I have a Combi double stroller and just have decided to be frugal and use what I have. Thanks for all the great advice!!!

I borrowed a friend's sit/ stand combo stroller a few weeks ago while we were shopping together and have to say that I really did not like it at all. My daughter is 3 and 1/2 and my son is 22 months old. It was MUCH harder to push than the Graco double stroller that I had left at home, does not have a cup holder (which my friend complains about too, was harder to manuver, it was hard to get into the basket below, and the kids didn't like being back to back because they both had to sit straight up if both wanted to sit at the same time. Sorry to be so negative, but those were things I never thought of when I saw people with the sit/ stand strollers before. We rarely use the double any more, but I think that in my case my kids were much happier if they were facing the same direction - that way they didn't get upset if one of them wanted to lay down. Just a thought. If you didn't want to spend the $500, I would suggest looking at a few other brands similar to the Phil and Ted's design. Good luck!

I bought a sit & Stand from Babies R US - for about 70. It's worked really great - my boys are 16 months apart and are large for their age and it still works (if I could just get them to use it LOL) - My 3 year old is almost 44 inches tall and 48 lbs and my 2 year old is about 38 inches and 35 lbs...it handles their weight well.

Hey R.,

I have been on the hunt for the perfect double stroller for a few months and just discovered a new option on Thursday. It is the Kolcraft Contours® Options® Tandem. You can check it out at www.kolcraft.com. They sell it online at Walmart.com for only $198.

Give it a look, it may work for you!

I know nothing about the Phil and Ted's, but I bought a sit and stand for baby #3. It was great because the other 1-2 kids could also fit if needed and there is also a lot of room for hanging shopping/diaper bags near the handle. I just wish it had a cup holder. I love mine and found myself using it out even if I just had the baby--it isn't too bulky for just one.

Check out the graco quatro tour duo for a tandem....i like it much better than the duoglider. Definitely easier to push. However, for an everyday stroller, I would seriously consider a Maclaren twin techno. A little pricey, but nice and small, and has a full recline for the infant. It also already comes with all the bells and whistles (footmuff, raincover, etc.).

We use the Graco Duoglider double stroller, which has worked out really well for us. We already had a Graco Snugride infant car seat, and this stroller is designed so that we can pop the infant carrier in and out of the stroller, just like a travel system. My baby is now too big for the infant carrier, but she sits very well directly in the seat, and It has been super convenient. It can be a bit unwieldy at times since the seats are one in front of the other (as opposed to side-by-side), but I continue to use it almost daily for 2-1/2 mile walks with my kids and it is great. And, the fact that the seats ARE one in front of the other makes it easier to maneuver through tight spaces in stores. Depending on the exact model you get, it will run between $150-$200. I don't know anything about the Phil and Ted's stroller, but I can't imagine how it would be worth $500....

I asked a similar question several months ago and these were the responses, it may help. I got the Graco Duo Glider b/c I knew my oldest son (2 1/2) wasn't ready for the freedom of getting in and out of the stroller on his own. It is easy enough to get him out if I decide it is ok so I would rather have that option. Also, it was compatible with my Graco car seat. http://www.mamasource.com/request/12602249536283344897

My double stroller is a side-by-side and it is hard to get through the stores or tight places. Just a heads up!

The Sit and Stroller I feel is a much better idea. I have the Joovy and I Love it!! I've heard a few negatives about the baby Trend. Good luck.
