There is a kids' resale store called The Polka Dot Pony, located on Anderson Mill Road in NW Austin, that does rent ski gear for kids. It would be worth a phone call, although I would imagine the demand right now is pretty high since it's spring break! HTH

I too would like to know the answers: I've grandduaghyers who ofte need the same

The Polka Dot Pony (a children's consignment store on Anderson Mill Rd. in Austin) has a large selection of ski apparel for rent. The prices are VERY reasonable. It costs $15.00 per coat/pants/ski bib for 10 days, or $30.00 per piece for the "latest and greatest" styles. We just rented a coat for our son, and it was great!

i am not sure i the sizes work for the age? But I have a fluffy pink coat parka, and 2 sets over bib overalls that we will never use again, I think i might work for your 9 year old? My kids outgrew them years ago...I have almost sold them several times in a garage sale, but just haven't had the heart since I paid so much for them, I live in the cedar park area, I can look tonight when I get home...

...you can e-mail me at ____@____.com

Polka Dot Pony off Anderson Mill Road is a consignment store that also rents ski suits. They don't keep gloves, hats, boots, etc on hand, just the suits. I'm not sure what they'll have available since it's just before Spring Break, but it would be worth checking out.

You can also check out Craig's List if you're looking to buy.

It is easy. Go to Goodwill Industries. Right now they are hoping to get rid of winter clothes in order to set out for spring. Their prices are incredibly low. Good luck and have fun skiing.

We are also about to go skiing and I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on clothes my kids would wear for one day and then out-grow. Check craigslist, thrift stores, and childrens used clothing store (Pumpkin Patch, Once Upon a Child, etc). I found a ski bib for my 6 yo at the Salvation Army Family Thrift store on Congress for $1. I just about skipped out of that place after that find. Its in great condition. My 3 yo was harder to outfit so my SIL is sending me one of her son's (they live in Chicago). Also, Sail & Ski will rent out children's ski clothing for about $15-$20 per week. You may want to go that route. Good luck and have fun on your trip.

About me: I am a sahm of two boys ages 3 and 6.
