Looking for Your Experience with OB/GYN in the Naperville Area.
My previous OB moved out of state and she recommended Dr Wright's office. I am 20 weeks pregnant and I have been seeing Dr Wright for care. Dr Wright has been wonderful and she has a great bedside manner. However, I am not happy with the nursing staff at this office. I feel they are rude and abrupt on the phone. They also tend to start asking my history in the middle of the hallway, no matter who is around. The first visit at this office, the nurse did not even introduce herself to me, but instead started to rapid fire questions at me. I could barely keep up. They call your name to come back into the exam room through the door by the reception area (without even opening the door to the hallway). I recently had a scare when I fell, so I called to speak with the nurse. She treated me like I was a child who talked down to me. I am just not comfortable with their staff. I have also heard about Dr Chen and Dr Carver. Does anyone have experience with these doctors? What do you think about their staff? Please tell me about your experiences with both offices. I am a pediatric nurse, so I am very familiar with how offices work and how nurses should conduct themselves. Thanks for any information.

Hi J.-I know I am way late with a response, but just wanted to chime in that I, also saw Dr Wright when I first moved to Naperville for a gyne visit. I was test driving doctors back then to determine who I would use when I got pregnant and I wanted to mention that I thought their staff was so unprofessional. I vowed never to go back. Dr. Wright was fine, but their office staff was terrible-truly I think an embarassment to the practice. I switched to DuPage Medical Group out of Edward Hospital and am much happier. Hopefully, your pregnancy and and delivery went well!

Dr. Chen and Dr. Carver are great doctors and I have not had an issue with the nursing staff. I have always been able to get an appointment when needed. I have gone to both the Naperville office and the Oak Brook office and the staff is great at both offices.

I use Dr. Chen and Dr. Carver during my pregnancy. They are both wonderful and their nursing staff is very kind. Most often, one of the doctors would call me back w/ the results if I had tests done which really surprised me. I have recommended several friends to them, all of which have been satisfied. I used the Naperville office mostly, but did have to frequent the Oak Brook Terrace office for ultrasounds (the ultrasound tech was super nice). I wholely recommend them.

I see Dr. Carver and Chen for my second pregnancy. Their officed staff is great. I find myself very critical b/c I too am a RN (oncology), so I expect the best from the nursing staff and they come through. Dr. Chen/Carver work out of Edwards and Good Samaritan Hospital which is nice. Good Luck!!!!

I do not know any of the doctors that you listed, but if you are looking for a great OB, I see Dr. Portabib out of the Edwards Medical Building. Great deliveries with him (even another lady made the same comment on her visit today) and the staff is usually VERY nice. Carol is a GREAT nurse there..

Hi J.,
I go to the same office but at the Downers Grove location and Dr Curcio is my primary doctor. I have noticed that there is one nurse in particular (who I suspect is the same one you are speaking of) that is rude. She just has a cold manner about her, I can't even describe it. If you really like Dr Wright, maybe you should just mention it to her. I have not had any problems with the other nurses or doctors there so that's why I just try to ignore her (though I have to admit I hate it when she is there). But I hate the thought of finding a new OB/GYN even more. So I need to ask you, is she really tall with long blondish-brown semi-curly hair? The shorter Hispanic nurses have been very nice and sweet to me and the lady in the front office has always been pleasant too.
