Looking for Weekend Getaway

There is the Lake Chautauqua Wine Trail right at the PA/NY border along Lake Erie. It is right about three hours away. There are really quaint Bed & Breakfasts there, and they have a holiday event in November. For a fee (it is usually around $50 a person,) you visit all of the wineries, get a glass of wine paired with a food item and a glass. We had a lot of fun doing it. How about Erie, Cleveland, Conneaut, Deep Creek Lake (MD)? My in-laws live in Warren, PA. There are a lot of quaint towns and beautiful scenery. I bet you could find a bed-and-breadfast and a fall festival up there.

If you're into the outdoors how about Presque Isle?

L., you might want to think of Oglebay Resort and Conference Center. They have a spa, fine dining and during sometime in November thru January they have the lights. My husband and I went there a year ago. We met my college roommate and her husband and had a great time. It is only 1 hour from Pittsburgh. My friend called and there was a special. Each couple got a pass to drive through and see the light display, Sunday buffet brunch and the room for Saturday night. (You could also buy a ticket and ride a bus through.) Their number is 800-624-6988. The weekend that so much fun (maybe part was because we were with old friends, but being alone with your husband might me fun too!!) Whatever you do, have a fun time!
