Looking for Volunteer Work or Part-time Job
I am looking for volunteer work or a part-time job on the weekends (possibly week days) for my mother. She has spent the past 29 years raising her kids and now watching my son while I work. It is time for her to do something for herself. She is not quite sure what she wants to do, though she enjoys horses, and is open for trying new things. She needs to develop a part of her life that is hers, she's only 52. Any ideas and suggestions would be great!

S.,
My husband is a Chiropractor in the Park Cities and is getting ready to hire a Chiropractic Assistant to work at his front desk. The position is 3 1/2 days a week. Monday, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday and Thursday.
Let me know if she might be interested.

Hello!
I have a great opportunity for your mother! I am a stay-at-home mother and I have begun my own business. I would love to help her do the same. This is the best part-time job I've ever heard of! There will be a meeting Tuesday evening. Call me for details! A. ###-###-####

How 'bout combine her passion for kids and horses by volunteering at a therapeutic riding center! There are several in the area. Frisco Horse Park, Equest in Wylie, Stajduhar Stables in Colleyville (My son rides there, he has Down syndrome and just LOVES it and their volunteers are always treated well), there's Spirit Horse in Corinth (near Denton) and Rocky Top Stables in Grapevine.
She would get to work with the horses and help improve the quality of life for kids who are differently-abled.
If she's interested, I can get you more detailed info on the places.

She might look at the S. G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Headquarters is near the Galleria Mall, but there are Affiliate offices in Dallas, Plano, Tyler and Fort Worth. I know they really appreciate volunteers. http://www.komen.org

S., I am a 51 year old mother of three and mimi of one adorable three year old boy. I am a nurse who needed to make a bit extra and have found a wonderful opportunity. The thing I like the most is the friednships and personal growth I am experiencing. And yes, at 51 I still found things to improve!
If your mom could spare 15 minutes for a phone chat, I'd love to tell her to see if she might like what I do.
