Looking for Understanding, Compassionate Psychiatrist for Anxiety Anywhere Metro

My brother is suffering from anxiety at age 28. The physical symptoms are making his life horrible since he constantly has chest pains and is worried about having a heart attack etc. He has tried to find someone to talk to, but only finds stuffy, uncomfortable offices and hasn't found the right person. He would prefer not to go to a huge office with tons of dr's but somewhere more homey where he can relax and open up. If you know of anyone good, health partners network, anywhere in the metro, that would be very appreciated! Thanks!

My husband would highly recommend Dr. Patricia Evans with Aspen Clinic in Bloomington.

7920 Cedar Avenue South
Bloomington, MN 55425

Main Number ###-###-####

He suffers from panic attacks also and spent two years in her care learning to cope with his anxiety. He also takes Effexor and Buspar to help control the symptoms. It was a long road to recovery but tell your brother it is possible to led a happy and normal life.

Good luck!

Hi Jennifer,
Beverly Lewis is wonderful and has a private office in downtown Mpls. Don't have her number handy. I'm sure you could find her info. on the web. She is very kind and being that her office is not at a clinic, might be helpful. Mike Driscall is a wonderful, easy to talk to psychologist if he is looking for a male. He works out of Associated Clinic by Calhoun Square.
Good Luck!

I have a recommendation but it is an office but has only 4-5 therapists. It's a small office space so he shouldn't feel too bad. Dr. John O' Neil off of Hwy 110 in Mendota Heights

Jennifer,
I'm sorry your brother's having such a hard time. I've used Scott County Mental Health for both myself and my children. Deb Battles there is absolutely wonderful and I've never heard anything bad about anyone there. ###-###-####
Hopefully he finds somewhere he's comfortable soon and can start the healing process. Best of luck!!

someone referred me to Karen Stevenson she is a licensed clinical social worker. She has been used individually and as a couple with good success. She has a great approach and is compassionate, yet not stuffy and seems solution oriented-with a "coaching" type approach. Her # is ###-###-####-located off university ave-near 280.

There's a therapist I've had work with my teenage son that I really like. He is with HealthPartners Regions Behavioral Health Clinic and is located in Woodbury--near Woodwinds. His name is Mark Fastner. Nothing stuffy about him.
Good Luck.
