Hi Moms -
You've always been so great in helping me and I hope you all can this time too.
My friend moved here from Texas to go to Medical school not that long ago. Recently, she found out she was preggers. Now, she needs clothes that will work for school and fit her. The attire is business. I promised I would ask you guys for help on this. Does anyone know any maternity thrift stores or other places she can get well put together maternity outfits? We live around C-470 and University.
Thanks!

I am on a pretty tight budget and when I was preggo, I got my clothes at Motherhood Maternity in Colorado Mills Mall. They always have a clearance rack, and I also had to wear business attire. I found some great deals there.

I am a birth doula and have lots of my clients give me their old baby clothes to hand down to other clients once they have their babies. If she would be interested in using a doula, let me know, I could give her free clothes!

the Mommy go round at kipling and bowles (litleton) has consignment maternity wear... if you tell them what you are looking for and what size, the lady who runs the place can call you when stuff comes in.

also, I know it is a bit of a drive, but for some of maternity clothes I have driven up to the flat-irons mall, they have a pretty decent sized old navy (good for casual wear), also a pumpkin patch, motherhood maternity and mimi maternity. rare (in my experience) to find so many maternity stores in one place. anyway, if you keep an eye on those places, they can be good sources for sale items. I got some business type pants at the pumpkin patch for $10 per pair. also, "hot mama" at aspen grove, has a limited selection of maternity clothes... but they carry japanese weekend which is not inexpensive, but they have stles like like skirts that are reversible... makes it easier to get more use out of your clothes.. and more options for business situations.

lastly, how far along is she? I wear a 14/16, if she can wait 4 more months (I'm due June 3rd), she is welcome to borrow my clothes... I have a decent amount of stuff that is "office" appropriate.

good luck!

If she can wait long enough, my church hosts a huge baby/kids/maternity consignment sale on April 18 (8-2pm, and select items go half price 12-2pm). We have TONS of maternity clothes to choose from and the prices are usually very reasonable (better than most consignment stores). It's called the NEW TO YOU sale and it's at Christ Lutheran Church, just south of C-470 on Broadway in Highlands Ranch.

Oh my gosh! I just had my 2nd baby and I am done. I have lots of dressy maternity clothes that I am looking to sell but haven't had a chance...this would be the PERFECT opportunity! Most of the dress clothes/tops are from A Pea in the Pod, Mimi Maternity and Hot Mama. Olian, Diane Von Fustenburg, Maternal America ect...

My first pregnancy, I worked and had to dress up, my 2nd, I bought some REALLY CUTE tops that were only worn once! I had trouble in both my pregnancies and never got to use these cute things for events like the holidays. My 2nd daughter was born 12/22 10 weeks early, 1 pound 15 ozs-(she is doing so well) and hope to have her home in a few weeks!

Please let me know if your freind is interested, my contact info is ____@____.com or ###-###-####. I live in Saddle Rock at E-470 and Gartrell-not too far. Hope to hear from you....

I like the place at Bowles and Kipling. I'm glad someone else knew the name. You might try ebay and craig's list. I wish I had some left to pass on. I sent them all to my cousin. I hope she finds some great stuff! Tell her congrats!

There is an ARC thrift store near Wadsworth and Bowles that carries a fair amount of maternity. Sizes are hit and miss, but I left there with 2 cute tops and a pair of pants for $15, so it is worth checking out at least, as you can't beat the prices. Also, Motherhood Maternity has an outlet at Colorado Mills, with decent outlet prices.

Also, when pregnant with my first, I bought a bunch of clothes on craiglist pretty cheap--and got some really cute things. I purchased a garbage bag of clothes for $50 that way.

I chimed in to see what was up - as I used to have a used childrens goods store in Morrison. We always had a closet of Maternity clothes priced to die for. Many of the Mom's just didn't want the stuff they bought wasted and wanted it reused.
Sorry, I don't have the store any more. E 470 killed my business.
But I might also mention JoAnnes (if they are still around) used to do a good business in all kinds of clothing.
Good Luck - I love Craigs list.http://denver.craigslist.org/search/sss?query=maternity%2...

Gumballs is a great thrift store in Littleon. It is right by Bemis Library on Gallup ST. (I think, but you might want to call) Its kind of a crazy store with a ton of stuff packed in there, but the prices make it worth it. Also, Savers is right by there too, and if you check often, you can find some great maternity clothes! Good luck to your friend!

Hi J.,

Have your friend try the Salvation Army stores. I know some professional women who go there to look for miscellaneous items because they get tired of paying premium dollars. Target also has a nice selection that isn't too pricey. Another thought is to contact the news channels and see if there are any pregnant moms ready to part with some of their first or second trimester clothes. I noticed there were a few pregnant women on the news.

She could also just buy bigger sized dresses and tops at thrift stores.
