Looking for the BEST Pediatric GI Around Broward County Area

Our son is a little over 6 months old and has been seeing a Pediatric Gastroenterology who sees nothing wrong with the fact that he has straight diarrhea up to his neck 6 times a day. We've been through all the lab work he's put us through and all the formula changes, nothing has worked and all lab work comes back perfectly fine. And I'm not a person who gets grossed out over stuff, I'm talking straight water that sometimes I wonder why I waste the money on the diaper because none stays in it it's so liquidy.
I was hoping someone would be able to help us with our next step, thought we might try another doctor - maybe another one would simply have some more ideas thats all. We live in Broward but would seriously be willing to drive for someone worth it, because this is very frustrating to not have an answer. Please any ideas would help. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you all so much for your quick and helpful responses! We actually had our checkup with the pediatrician this week so I brought all your doctor's names with me. Our pediatrician of course said they are all great, he just personally knows a few of them, so I figured to go with them first and who knows we may end up at more than one. He also has us trying NeoCate right now to see if that helps at all, since this weekend I couldn't take it any more and had to do my own little experiment - took him off formula just for 3 days, gave him his normal fruits, veggies, and some watered down pedialyte just to make sure he got enough fluids, and the diapers were normal diapers, it was amazing. So it's simply something in the formula - it's just we've tried every single formula out there.
So we have an appointment with Dr. Tano on Jan 7th - keep your fingers crossed he has some ideas. And again thank you for your ideas,,,if you have any other thoughts on what his problem might be please feel free to let me know also.

We had to see a pediatric GI with my daughter (for something totally different than what you are going through) and we were very happy with him. His name was Dr. John Thompson down at the University of Miami. He was great and maybe he can offer you some new information or ideas. Good luck!

Hi M.,

I have heard that Dr. Diaz & Dr. Tano are the best. My son saw Dr. Diaz for a problem that turned out to be a malrotation of his intestines, after the formula changes etc., He was nice & they have the best reputation around, and they work out of Joe DiMaggio, where my son had his surgery. Their offices are small, freezing cold & always packed, so be prepared to wait a long time. But they spend a long time with thier patients, so that is good.
Good luck, and don't lose hope!
Sincerely,
J. S.

Dr. Adams of Palm Beach(or West Palm Beach?)Pediatric Gastroenterology has been great for my now 19 month old who saw the pediatrician regularly and then an allergist. Dr. Adams was the only one who diagnosed his problem correctly(turns out he had a bacterial infection for months!) He sees patients twice a week in West Boca off 441 near Glades. We live in Coral Springs and it is a very easy drive. The office staff, parking, communication for test results has always been great. ph. # is ###-###-####. As long as baby is gaining weight and not dehydrated, the doctors tend not to worry so much but your case sounds excessive, and I know it is frustrating to not have an answer. Best of luck...

My first recommendation would be to pump and feed him your milk. You say formula isn't working, maybe mommy's milk will make a difference! Even if it has been 6 months, you can still relactate, especially since he is so young. An LC can help.

Best to you,
T.

My kids are almost adults now but from the time they were born we used Dr.Katherine O'Flynn. She is amazing, she will tell you what she thinks and if you need to see someone she will. So I am sorry I do not know a Pediatric GI Doctor, But I would recommend you seeing her first. I will tell you her waiting room, sometimes you have to wait, but worth it!. Good Luck and I hope your baby gets better soon.
