Looking for Someone to Lay Pergo Flooring in Bolingbrook...

Hi there!

We are looking at purchasing some Pergo flooring (maybe from IKEA - it's so cheap!). My husband has never layed any type of flooring before nor does he have the time to do it. Who did you use to lay your flooring and what did they charge? Do they charge per hour or per square foot?

Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

My brother is great at this stuff. He has a home inspection business but does small jobs on the side. He did my whole basement. His name is Steve Doyle and phone ###-###-####

I recently moved from that area. Call Chad Porter of Masterpiece Unique Services at ###-###-####, he will do a great job!!!

Sorry I don't have a person to recommend as we laid the Pergo ourself. We did an entire basement floor (a large area) in one day's time. It wasn't as difficult as it seemed. Good luck!

Generally, contractors charge by the foot. Some contractors charge more per foot to install it than the price per foot you paid for the materials. I'll give you a good piece of advice about buying laminate flooring. Don't overbuy especially if IKEA has it in stock and you can go back and buy more if you need it. I bought too much and got burned. I bought my flooring from a flooring store called FCE and then had to pay a hefty 35% restocking fee to return what I didn't use (it was in fine print on the back of the receipt and my salesman 'forgot' to tell me about the restocking fee).
I had a friend of mine from College put in my Pergo floors. He's done electrical, minor plumbing and some other stuff my husband has no time to do. I've known him for over 20 years and he started his own Home Improvement business about 10 or 15 years ago. He's very good and very reasonable. He lives in Plainfield but works all over. His name is Craig Smith and his business is called Craig's Home Improvement. You can reach him at ###-###-####. Tell him N. referred you. Good luck!

My husband and I put a pergo floor in our bedroom in less than a day. The most time consuming part was clearing the room of all furnature, which you would have to do even if you hire someone to lay the floor. Neither of us had any prior experience but it was very easy and went very quickly. Just something to think about.
