Dear mommys in the Bellingham and Ferndale areas,

I know practically no one any where near my age who have kids. I would love to have some new friends to meet up with, of any age!

What can I do next?

You should look into joining MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers - prenatal through kindergarden) there are a couple of groups in Bellingham and I dont know about Ferndale but you could probably find out online or call Cornwall church. I attend the group at Cornwall Church out on NW and have really enjoyed getting to know other moms. Another great place to meet people is throught the Bellingham Tech. School's parents and kids together classes. These are classes that you bring your little one to (Birth through age 4, although they might have prenatal classes too). There is time to play and interact w/ your child and then there is time for parent discussion on a variety of parenting and child development topics. I found this was very helpful info. especially after my first child. Hope that helps!

About me: 28yr old mom of 8yr old son, and 3 yr old daughter w/ a foster granddaughter on the way:)

Both Bellingham and Ferndale have a MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support)Club, which is a great way to find playgroups and get advice/support.

Well, people are waiting longer to start families these days.
Do you belong to a church? Have you met anyone through work or school? Joining organizations and clubs is a wonderful way to meet friends. What are you interested in? Do you like to cook? Read? Swim? I would suggest MOMS Club once you have a baby, which is a great resource for young mothers.

There are MOMS Clubs in North Bellingham and Ferndale--I highly recommend it! I've been a member for 3 1/2 years, and have met lifelong friends through MOMS. If you are a stay at home mom, you can become a member, but if you're not (stay-at-home dad, full-custody grandparent, woman without children, etc.), your "eligibility" would be voted on by the membership. Check out momsclub.org to gt more information on the organization, and specific info on joining. Good luck!

Hi L.-

My name is Sarah and I live in Bellingham. I am a 27 y/o stay at home mom of a 5 m/o daughter. I get together with a few different groups of moms (mostly informally), but I am also open to trying new groups. It can be hard to join a new group by yourself, so if you would like to try one together, let me know.
