Go to Meetup.com and browse through playgroups. You can always find a group near where you live or in your area. There are so many groups it's easy to find one that has similar interests to you, etc. Good luck, I really think it's a good way to meet other mothers!

I think the easiest way of hooking up with other moms in your area is joining the group Mommy & Me (www.mommyandme.com). Once you join, you will be hooked up with a playgroup if you would like and they usually have a number of mommy and child activities during the day and also one mom's night out each month. There's also another group called Moms Club that is essentially the same but it seems that Mommy & Me seems to be everywhere.

Hope you find the adult that you are craving very soon.

Hey there, I'm in TX but I have a little sister who lives in Akron OH(Kenmore). Sarah has 4 children ranging from 1 to 6. If you live close I can give you her info. I know they spend all summer at the pool.
