Looking for Schools for 2 Year Olds and up in Central Denver (Mayfair)

I'm trying to find a school for my son to attend a couple mornings a week. He's 1 now but I've heard that many places have waiting lists. I'd like to go ahead and get him on them so he's ready to go when he turns 2. We live in Mayfair near Rose Hospital.

What can I do next?

Its a bit early for the wait list but check into the JCC. I used to work there and they have a wonderful program. I actually think they started an eighteen month program but their lottery system is in early spring for the next fall. But call them and get the particulars. Even if you are not Jewish its a great atmosphere.

Hi-
I too used to work at the JCC and loved it. It is an excellent program. I also highly recommend Sewall Child Development Center at 1360 Vine St. They have an all day childcare room as well as a half day room for 2's (the rest of the rooms are 3-5 year olds.) They have a qualistar rating of 4 (the highest) and very highly trained staff. Don't be dissuaded by the dated building!

The Denver Cooperative Preschool is a great place! They are on 5th and Marion. Both of my girls have attended there and I adore it!

I lived in that area a couple years ago and started my son at Small Fry Preschool and Kindergarten at 16 months (It's on the corner of 13th and Birch). It is located in what used to be a house but is now just a school. Gayle, the owner, is wonderful!

By the time he turned 2 he knew his ABC's, seasons, days of the week, months of the year, count to 10, and colors. 2 year olds learned letter and number recognition. 3 year olds learn how to write number and letters and how to spell their name.

2 years later, we now live in Westminster, but I still take him to Small-Fry as he is learning lots and they don't cost an arm and a leg ($140 per week, you provide diapers).
